Not satisfied We have been loyal Toyota customers for decades, so although we are highly satisfied with Toyota vehicles, we were extremely disappointed in the atten We have been loyal Toyota customers for decades, so although we are highly satisfied with Toyota vehicles, we were extremely disappointed in the attention we received from Toyota of Huntington when we purchased a Toyota Prius a few weeks ago. We were willing to put up with some disruption in a temporary location while a new location was being built, but given that we had very clear ideas about what we wanted to test drive and purchase (and made it known to staff), the amount of time we spent waiting for cars to be delivered from one location to another was unacceptable. A clear example is when we wanted to take possession of the Prius we were about to purchase. The car had arrived from another location the afternoon before ,and, in fact, our salesman wanted us to come that very afternoon to finalize the purchase. We indicated that we would be able to come to the dealership the next day at 3:30 pm. The car was not there waiting for us. Instead, it took more than an hour to have the car detailed, so we could drive it out the door at approximately 6:00 pm. Other issues we have with Toyota and not specifically the dealership are: Apparently, it’s standard procedure to learn about further additions to the bottom-line price after the deal is made. Thus, we learned about various warranty add-ons when we already had prepared a cashier’s check for our purchase. We also did not appreciate Toyota’s blurry descriptions of the different models and what is and is not included on each one. The words for the car details are incomprehensible to any person who does not read Car and Driver religiously (e.g., what is a cargo area tonneau cover, blind spot monitor, parking assist, or adaptive front-lighting system with auto-leveling headlights?). We were not given an easy way to make comparisons among models, although I was able to find something online that was very helpful. The color examples in a brochure bore little resemblance to the actual colors of the car. We had to go to considerable trouble ourselves to find a car at another dealership with the color we were considering. We never did get instruction on all of the buttons, icons, and displays in our new car. We still do not know how to access various music or information stations. We still do not know whether we can use Sirius XM or an Android device. An hour of instruction from a knowledgeable Toyota person would have been far more useful than getting a salespitch about extended warranties. If such a tutorial from a person were available, we would not go to Toyota of Huntington to take it. After it took 2 ½ hours to get our car when we arrived with full payment in hand, we never want to set foot into Toyota of Huntington again. More
