Unfortunately this is the second rodent damage to a wire harness on this truck. I have read where the insulation on wires is soy based and potential to attract rodents. From what I read Toyota and others harness on this truck. I have read where the insulation on wires is soy based and potential to attract rodents. From what I read Toyota and others indicate the soy issue is not problem, rodents have always chewed on wires. Since my wife and I have owned Toyota’s we have had rodent damage 4 times. on our vehicles. When we owned GM vehicles no problems. We will thus start looking at GM as replacements for our 4 Toyota vehicles in our family. I asked and received the damaged wire harness. I did notice that A broken support tab was left on ng wire harness. This makes me think one of the new clips is not fastened in place. Since owning GM and ToyotA vehicles we have lived on farm. I think most of the damage may have resulted from the occasional time we have parked a vehicle on the grass and not on gravel or a garage. I am intrigued that many dealers park their vehicles on the grass. I haven’t done full blown search but I did see evidence of rodent activity, looked like mouse poop in eg compartment. More
