Front Royal Ford goes out of their way to get the service work done. The problem lies with Ford Motor Co being able to supply the repair parts, even on recalls Ford cannot supply the parts to make the repair work done. This is my honest review. Purchased a 2013 BMW x5d from them back in February 2023. First off, asked for the price of the vehicle which was advertised at $15,900. Was told tha Purchased a 2013 BMW x5d from them back in February 2023. First off, asked for the price of the vehicle which was advertised at $15,900. Was told that it would be an extra $1175 to PDI vehicle. Normally when you advertise a vehicle that means everything is included and I would assume they marked it up enough to include inspecting and reconditioning if needed. They agreed to the price as advertised. I communicated with Chris the salesman that I would be down the next day to look at and purchase the vehicle if everything was good. Had clean carfax but asked if the vehicle was damaged at all. He said it was clean. The next day, we drove 2 hours 45 minutes and I got a text 15 minutes away that the vehicle is still in service and would not be able to be taken that day. No big deal considering I didn't know if I would be purchasing the vehicle but I was prepared to. After arriving and looking over the vehicle with the intake pulled off and they were replacing the glow plugs due to check engine light. The dealership was waiting for intake gaskets to put back together. I was also told the mechanic working on the vehicle was a former BMW tech and knew what he was doing. The vehicle was clean but was damaged in the rear previously. It wasn't terrible but clearly slightly damaged. I was still interested in purchasing the vehicle. After looking over the numbers I asked if they would replace the glow plug module while they are in there. Researching it is common for bad glow plugs to damage the module so I figured to have that replaced while the intake is off . They agreed if it was not super expensive. ($150 part). Purchased the vehicle that day and since I drove 3 hours I worked with them to meet me half way when the vehicle was ready. Chris confirmed the vehicle was ready but the glow plug module was on backorder. He said he would have parts order and they would mail to my house. Picked up the vehicle half way the following week. They did replace the tires which I was not expecting, was happy with that. Got the vehicle home and all was good. A week later the add oil light came on. Chris never provided me with the final repair order which I requested. I added a quart and just went ahead and order a whole oil change kit approved by BMW. I went to change the oil and the oil was never changed and was black as could be. For 300 miles, the oil shouldn't look like that if it was recently changed. The oil filter was almost collapsed which also tells me the oil was never serviced. I texted Chris to see if the glow plug module was ordered yet and he said he would get with parts to make sure. Never heard back about it. I went ahead and pulled the intake manifold off to make sure everything was properly put back together and if they replaced intake gaskets. Lo and behold they only replaced 6 of the 12 o-ring gaskets. The other 6 were as hard as a rock. Overall not a BIG deal but this just goes to show a few things about the place. The moral of the story, get everything in writing on the "we owe". Get proper documentation and make sure you sign off on it. The vehicle should be reconditioned with the advertised pirce. This was not a "fast lane" vehicle that dealers typically do. For Nearly $16k for a 10 year old vehicle, I wasn't expecting perfection but I expect a dealership to do proper and simple things. I think if they were selling this vehicle locally they would have done a little more to keep business coming back. I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews but I believe in accountability. More
