I bought my new Subaru Impresa in the Garavel Norwalk Subaru dealership. I checked out other Subaru dealers in the area but I purchased my vehicles from Garavel. When you have so many choices, customer service and the person whom you are buying your car from is very important. The reason I bought my car from this place is the sales person`s knowledge, expertise, care; and Garavel also had the car I was looking for. The sales person was Gary Sajachmetovas. When I went to the other dealerships, I felt pressured buying the car from them but I did not feel pressured in this place. Gary wanted to be sure that my needs are being met and he even went beyond that; he educated me about the purchase, about things which are very helpful to know when you are buying a new car. These information were very helpful since I had no knowledge of purchasing a new car (this was my first purchase and by myself). Even though the sales person realized my ignorance of cars, he didn’t take advantage of the situation. He walked me through the whole process and he still gives me follow up calls making sure that everything is going well with my car and he is also available if I have questions. I see the prior customer reviews which are very old and those sales people don’t even work in this place anymore. this was the WORST experience I have ever had with a dealership. I saw a pre-owned Volvo XC70 for sale online and called the dealership to inquire about it. The woman I spoke to assured me that the car was in "MINT" condition..and when I asked if there were any scratches, dents or dings, she said "no". I told her that I would be traveling over 3 hours to get there and was very particular and wanted to make sure the car was in excellent condition, and once again, she assured me that I would not be disappointed. When I arrived at the dealership, I met a salesman who told me that he would be working me with me instead of Jessica, and when he showed me the car, I could not believe my eyes! I took one look at it and saw that there were missing paint chips on the door, scratches, and dings all over the exterior as well as many imperfections on the interior. I WAS LIVID! The salesman told me that obviously the woman I spoke to over the phone did not actually see the car, but was reading a description. He tried to calm me down and asked me what he could do (lower the price? fix the car?)...but I obviously could not make a deal with a company that would be so deceptive. The irony of the story is...when I spoke with Jessica initially, I told her that I had concerns about the dealership, as the they got very bad reviews on various websites and she assured me that those reviews were old and that there was new management....!!!!! I left and ended up purchasing the same model car locally. I would NEVER recommend or use this dealership and warn others to stay away from this dealership. More

I was looking for a Subaru and shopped around for a used car that met my specifications. I finally made my selection at Garavel Subaru in Norwalk, Connecticut. The Subaru Forester was exactly what I was l car that met my specifications. I finally made my selection at Garavel Subaru in Norwalk, Connecticut. The Subaru Forester was exactly what I was looking for. The employee that helped me the most was Shawn Brown. He knew what I wanted and helped me find the perfect car. Mr. Brown was polite, professional and concerned. He made sure that I got exactly what I wanted, and called me after the sale to see that I was satisfied with my purchase. Mr.Brown never tried to give me "the hard sell". He knew he had an excellent product to sell and presented it as such. That "hard sell" was something that I got at other dealerships (ex: you have an hour to make a decision because we have two other people who want this car)and I found it very distasteful. Mr. Brown was never like that. He answered all my questions and then gave me time to decide. I had complete confidence in Mr. Brown's honesty. I was very satisfied with the price of the vehicle as well. I would definitely recommend Garavel to anyone who is looking for a used car, and would suggest that they ask for Shawn Brown to help them. STAY AWAY FROM GARAVEL! I was in the market to purchase my familys's fourth subaru. Love the cars, so no complaints there. Having said that, you should stay away from this dealership. There are better options in the area that sell and lease the same outstanding cars. My salesperson demonstrated a shocking lack of familiarity with the product. She told me that in order to get the radio controls on the steering wheel, I had to have a special package, which cost more than the base model I was looking at. When I did some more research and went to the dealership's own website, I found that not only was she wrong, but that they had two cars in inventory that met the exact specifications I was looking for. When I called this to her attention, she said there must be a mistake on the website. When I pressed her, she said I was right, and that she had misunderstood what I was looking for. When I told her I could get the same exact car for less at Stamford Subaru, she said they would pull a bait and switch and that I would end up paying more. She then said that unlike other dealers, if they can't locate the car with the features I wanted at the price agreed upon and deliver when promised, they would put me in an upgraded model so that they could meet the promised delivery date and they would eat the extra cost. She also pitched the 10 year drivetrain warranty they offer. In the end, they couldn't get the car to me when promised, the salesperson denied that she ever made the promises she had made and her manager threatened not to sell me the car. And the drivetrain warranty? What they don't tell you until after the sale is that it only applies if you service the car at their dealership. The salesperson knew this car was for an out of state college student, and therefore the car could not be serviced at Garavel (thus voiding the warranty. In other words, she knew the warranty would be worthless to me. This dealership exemplifies every bad stereotype you have heard about automobile sales people. Too bad, because it is a great car. More
