Was looking to buy a new Toyota Tacoma so of course I was doing research online and I found Handy's through dealerrater.com web site. Initially, I have to say I was leery of their rating here because it seem doing research online and I found Handy's through dealerrater.com web site. Initially, I have to say I was leery of their rating here because it seemed too good to be true but after completing a deal with them I am no longer skeptical. I talked with White River Toyota and actually had a slightly lower price on a super white but when they started trying to strong arm and rush me into a deal I got irritated with them and went back the 150 miles to Handy's and completed the deal. So even though the dealer 30 miles from home was slightly lower I chose to drive 5 times further to buy a new vehicle and I'm very happy I did. Ali was was very pleasant to deal with, never pressured us, and explained everything in clear detail with no annoying salesman tactics. If your looking to buy a new Toyota I highly recommend you check out Handy's for yourself. More

I contacted all the dealers by email, and began negotiating with them for different models of Toyota Tacomas. Handy had the best deal because they had a new 2009 on the lot. Mike helped me understand why the 2009 6 cylinder had a more attractive lease option on it than lesser priced 2010 4 cylinders. When I told Mike I wanted to do most of the deal by email, he was very accommodating. The whole process of leasing this truck was easily the best experience I've ever had buying or leasing a vehicle. When I was ready to pick up the truck, Mike had all the paperwork ready, and I was in and out of the dealership in 30 minutes. Though Handy is farther away than two other Toyota dealerships, I'd go back to them for my next vehicle. More
Working with Adam Luneau was great and very accomadating. He made the buying process very easy and hope to do business again with him in the future. We were considering purchasing a new vehicle from Berlin City. However, we bought a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 through Handy Toyota. When my friend who had purchased her 2008 Rav 4 through Berlin City came to visit and compare the cars for differences I soon learned that we had made the right choice. Although she was very happy with her vehicle, she did not have the car explained to her. There were a few features she had that over the entire year of ownership she had not discovered. She had to purchase her own mud guards, floor mats and also have her vehicle inspected. Where she had the convenience of having her vehicle delivered she did not get the service that we did. Our salesman went above and beyond his duty to sell a vehicle. He spent much time negotiating with us, answering our many questions and also detailed the vehicle himself so that we could take it home that weekend. We were very pleased with the dealership and the vehicle we purchased. More
We are currently having a remarkable customer relationship with Handy Toyota. Here's a summary of our history with Handy Toyota so far. Summer 2008 - it's time (way past time actually) f relationship with Handy Toyota. Here's a summary of our history with Handy Toyota so far. Summer 2008 - it's time (way past time actually) for some new wheels. Poof! Enter: Instant car shopping stress! To begin the long arduous process we decide to try to see if we can actually afford a NEW car. Having spent a lifetime with nothing but used cars we'd really appreciate the 'highest' level of reliability a NEW car has to offer and treasure the thought of putting the original miles on a vehicle rather than inheriting someone else’s 'lifestyle' yet again. Also, we can't afford the full-purchase-price monthly payments for a NEW vehicle so we decide to try leasing and allow ourselves what we have paid in the past for used cars and budget ourselves a ~$200 monthly payment. After establishing our most important vehicle requirements - 4cyl for gas economy, adjustable cockpit, and wagon-like storage space – we do the research to narrow down our most likely vehicle choices. Once we had our list of 4-5 models, and before doing any traveling, we make some phone calls to see what the sales folks will 'offer' us and get an idea of who might like our business. We had several less than satisfying interactions (depressing actually) with various dealerships around the Champlain Valley. Then came Handy's turn. By chance (luck?) we spoke with Adam. Within literally 5 minutes (yes, five) Adam (kicked all the other dealerships butts) gave us a ballpark lease payment estimate of $201 on a 2009 4cyl Camry with full power driver’s seat and fold-down rear seats. Bam! Stress? What stress? 4-for-4. Sold! We went for a test drive that afternoon, loved the car, and drove it home the next day – proud ‘owners’ of a truly new car. What Adam had actually done inside of a few minutes was to remove a ton of our car shopping stress. He listened to what we were searching for and hit the mark without expending an ounce of sales pressure. He truly worked *with* us (not *on* us). Subsequent visits to Handy's service dept over the past year have also been stress free and friendly. It is becoming apparent to us that they are extremely interested in their customer's satisfaction. They also seem to be going beyond the individual transactional excellence and are managing for the long term by taking their customer relationship development very seriously. So far we are quite impressed with the overall quality of our experiences with Handy Toyota. We will be back! More
Salesman stayed late to allow us an oportunity to test drive a vehicle. He took the extra time to answer every question and explained everything about what the pricing was and why. Vehicle was ready as pr drive a vehicle. He took the extra time to answer every question and explained everything about what the pricing was and why. Vehicle was ready as promised. Dealership was fair and honest with everything. Salesperson did not hassle me and gave me the opportunity to be comfortable with the purchase. More
Our experience with Handy Toyota was really great. We are pretty fussy about what we wanted and did lots of looking and test driving. We wanted an AWD vehicle and wanted to spend less than $30k so we looked pretty fussy about what we wanted and did lots of looking and test driving. We wanted an AWD vehicle and wanted to spend less than $30k so we looked at small SUV's. We looked at the the Toyota RAV4, the Honda CRV, the Kia Sportage, the Ford Escape, the Mercury Mariner, the Hyundai Tucson, the Subaru Forrester and maybe a few others. We drove them all; many times in fact. None of them had "it". We loved the looks, features and quality of the RAV4 but thought the ride could be a little smoother. We went to Heritage a few times but found them to be arrogant and condescending. After a few visits, we felt too uncomfortable to go back so we decided to go north to St Albans and try Handy's. We met Mike Boomhower and once again we went out in the RAV4 for a test drive in the RAV4 limited. What a beautiful vehicle. It didn't feel just quite right and we came back another time for another drive. Mike was busy with another customer and Steve Courville came over and helped us out with yet another test drive. Yet another evening we showed up and the place was shutting down, it was 7 pm closing time. We were in the lot looking at the RAV4 and we spotted another vehicle we had not seen before. It was the Venza. Adam Luneau came out and introduced himself and started showing us the Venza. It is a crossover, more car like than the RAV4. It was obvious that Adam loved talking about the vehicle; he showed us all the features. We were impressed. We took it for a quick test drive and loved it. We came back a few days later for another test drive and really liked the vehicle. Mike indicated Toyota had a lease program going and we sat down with Doug Jacques who went over the various options available. I'm an engineer who likes to see data and plenty of it. Doug was very patient and very clearly explained to me how the lease price is calculated so that I could do the "what ifs" myself. Another few calls and a test drive or two with Mike to make sure this was the vehicle for us. Always patient and always willing to answer all my questions, Mike was great. Very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about the vehicles. When we finally decided to lease, Mike took us to Krista for the lease qualification process. Krista was pleasant and easy to deal with. All in all, all the people we dealt with at Handy were so nice to get along with. It feels friendly when you walk in the show room, not hostile when you walk into the Heritage show room. If you haven't been to Handy's or St Albans, you should give them a try. They are definitely worth the drive. More
We were looking to take advantage of the CARS program and trade in our larger SUV for a smaller more fuel efficient SUV. After many hours spent shopping around Chittenden County, Handy's Toyota was able to trade in our larger SUV for a smaller more fuel efficient SUV. After many hours spent shopping around Chittenden County, Handy's Toyota was able to provide us with a Rav 4 with all the accessaries we wanted for a very fair price. Mike B.'s friendly and straight forward approach was most appreciated and his knowledge of vehicles most impressive. Mike and the staff at Handy's made the whole process smooth, simple and enjoyable! Thank you. More
In my 25 years of shopping for cars, by far this is my most favorable dealership experience. Straight up the entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and competent with with all they have to offer. From m most favorable dealership experience. Straight up the entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and competent with with all they have to offer. From my first contact with the E-Commerced man, Adam Luneau, to the test drive offered by David Jacques, and onward to the final delivery by David J, the handling of all my questions and needs were always answered in a pleasant and professional manner. Bottom line I got the Toyota vehicle I wanted (RAV4 off the showroom floor) and at the price I was hoping for. More
