I have to update this after a terrible service experience and no response to my complaint. While the purchase experience was outstanding, I would no longer recommend this dealer because of their service department. In short, they installed the wrong accessory despite my writing on every invoice and work order the specifics of what was supposed to be installed, then had to replace the bumper - on a week old car! - to undo the damage done installing the accessory. When I was finally able to pick up the car, the gas gauge was on empty, even though I brought it in full. When I asked about this, the SERVICE MANAGER said in a nasty tone, "It's been in the shop the whole time. What do you think we did, siphon off your gasoline?" I had to be the one to explain to him that work on the electrical system could have affected the gas gauge. He had the car taken to the gas station. His employee told me that the gas gauge reading kept increasing as the car was driven until it showed full by the time it got to the station. It took less than a gallon to fill. The manager didn't seem sure of what had been wrong, just said that it must need to "reset" after the battery is disconnected. It doesn't exactly promote confidence in the service department if even the manager has to guess how the car works! ORIGINAL REVIEW: On our first visit, John was easy to work with and listened to what we said we wanted - really! We quickly test drove the kind of car we were interested in and John arranged for us to borrow one for a day. That helped us decide the specific version. It was my first time car shopping at dealerships and I should have expected something like this but not to this extent. They told they me they had it in inventory and I told them I'd come up Saturday morning at 10am. I called them twice before I left that morning(over an hour drive away) and they reassured me that they had the Nissan in inventory. I get there and get handed to a salesman and I told them I was there to see the Nissan, and the salesman told me he had to check and then proceeded to ask me what other cars I was interested in. I told them that I called three times and was told the Nissan was still there and the salesman said that well we have such a big inventory its hard to keep track. That's a bunch of bull and then I knew then that I got baited and they didn't have it. But I was being optimistic and told them what other types of cars i was interested in/my price etc. He comes back with some options(some not even close to what I wanted) and still doesn't tell me if they have the Nissan and by this time another lady comes up and I tell her I want to see the Nissan and she goes to see if its in inventory and of course comes back and says its gone. Surprise surprise. They try to get me to test drive an accord and I told them too many miles/too old and they keep nagging me to drive it even after I said I didn't want it. And then we are about to leave and they come running up saying they had a civic perfect for me. So I'm like sure I'll at least look at it. I drove over an hour up there. They wanted me to test drive the civic and I asked how much because I wasn't going to waste anymore of my time. They told me they didn't know but assured me it was in my price range, otherwise they wouldn't have shown it to me. So I test drove it and get back they talk to the manager and he comes back to tell me the price... it was $3000 above my price maximum. I just left after that. Went to Honda across the street. I had a non-nagging, non-lying, and non-time wasting experience and bought a honda accord. Also after I left I got a couple of text messages from the Mazda people. Some might say that's good customer service, but texting is more for personal relationships to me and I found that annoying, maybe because I hated them, I don't know. More

These folks like to play games, be warned!! If you go here to buy a car, make sure you sit at a desk so you have a view of the 'sales manager's' office. Sat there and watched just about the entire sales team in one of these glass windowed offices for over thirty minutes while Demetrius was "checking with his SM" on the price of the car I was interested in buying. When they had finally finished their laugh fest, the sales manager sauntered over to show me the best offer he could make. MSRP is not the best price! Then he stated he could offer an additional $500 for Mazda Loyalty. I advised him that was not correct as the current Mazda USA promo was $1000! He quickly told me he had to verify that on the web. Off,he went to the same office with the windows, sat down and chatted with a group of sales folks/staff for about 10 minutes. Ummm... At this point I got up to leave. Amazingly the SM came out and said that I was correct about the $1000.00 offer. Funny thing, He never touched a computer while in his office to check it, not to mention there is a computer on every sales desk (including the one I was at) by which he could have actually checked Mazda USA. Wow, talk about disrespecting the customer. I know the sales mans code is the keep the customer in the dealership as long as possible and wear the buyer down with delay tactics until they are willing to say yes to just about any deal, rather like interrogation techniques. Apparently this sales team excelled in this training exercise. Unfortunately for them, their interior designer didn't put up blinds or use frosted glass on the office windows so the customer can't see how disintersted the entire sales team is in working with/respecting the customer. I guess this was a lucky thing for me. I know when I'm being schmoozed and politely told the salesman and his SM I didn't think we'd be able to make a deal, got up, waked out, and drove to a different dealership. These antics could explain why this particular dealership has changed ownership twice in less than two years! When this was a Sutherlin dealer back in 2007, I did not experience this type of treatment from the sales team. They actually valued their customers and understood that a great sales experience keeps the customers coming back for service and future car purchases. More

Spent over 3 hours driving to dealership because we were told they would match and beat by a significant percentage an advertised ad. The trick is to get you in the door and start marketing other vehicles. Salesman started trying to get us to look at other options from minute one. Having purchased over 10 vehicles in the past, we were not willing to fall for these tactics. Wish they had been honest 3 hours ago. We wouldn't have wasted our time. More

I went looking for a new car while I was in Buford. Just happend to stop in Mazda and found a car that I liked.. Well we went into finance and he was a COMPLETE JERK!! After I refused to put money down and a have a co-signer I left and was not going back!! Well that Monday the sales guy called and asked if I would come back and they would work with me so that I could get a car.. I declined, and told him that I was not happy with the dealership and would not be coming back. HE THEN HUNG UP ON ME!!!! More

AVOID! SHADY BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS! DO NOT GO HERE!! I called Rick Hendrick Mazda Mall of Georgia this afternoon around 4:30pm interested in a used Jeep Patriot actively listed on Autotrader.c HERE!! First she checked "personally" with the inventory manager and told me the car was still on their lot and it was available for my girlfriend and I to come and check out. Now, I've been baited and switched before by other dealerships, but Shannon reassured me that the car was still available at their dealership, so I took the bait. I called back at 6PM right before leaving my house in downtown Atlanta to take the hour long trip up to Mazda Mall of Georgia, and Shannon told me that she will make an appointment to see the car. When my girlfriend and I exited the highway we called Shannon again to confirm the location of the dealership. We were five minutes away at this point after speaking with Shannon. I even told her as we confirmed the location that I would see her soon and I was looking forward to seeing the Jeep. We arrive on the lot and what do you know? Shannon is nowhere to be found, and she had "just left". At this point my suspicion is already raised and they pass us off to a sales guy who walks us out on the lot without saying anything hardly anything to us and brings us to two completely different SUV's and starts talking about them. I politely ask him to take us to the Patriot that we came to see and that Shannon confirmed an hour before hand was still on the lot. He said the Patriot had been sold earlier that afternoon. OH REALLY? He just gave away their bait and switch lie right then and there. I told him that I had confirmed the car was on the lot an hour before my arrival and there must be a mistake. We walk back inside and he starts scrolling through the inventory on his computer and finds the Patriot we wanted to see. He says it had sold, but neither he nor the another sales manager could provide any evidence of a sale via a sales person that day or in the hour gap in time that Shannon had confirmed via the inventory manager no later than an hour before our arrival that the Jeep was on the lot. The sales reps all tried to feed my GF and I some BS story about how cars get sold out from under people all the time and that their inventory just seemingly disappearing is normal, then they tried to get us to look at other, considerably more expensive cars that we could care less about. We could smell the lies pouring out of their reps as they were trying to make excuses and desperately trying to keep us from getting upset. I was already upset the moment the car that I had called three times about, gotten two confirmations that the car was on the lot, and driven over an hour to see had just disappeared and was sold out from other me. I know it's a bait and switch lie because the original rep disappeared, and the one we actually spoke to first upon arriving said the car sold earlier this afternoon. Shannons personal "confirmation" via the "inventory manager" that the car had not been sold was a bold-faced LIE. She also apparently LEAVES the dealership 5 minutes prior to our arrival after sounding all excited to meet us on the phone. Here's what good customer service is. It's not lying to your customers, it's being courteous enough to let them know when a vehicle you're interested in has sold if it truly has, not tricking them into believing that a vehicle is still available then trying to pass it off as some unbelievably fast sale that we were minutes too late on. If their story had any validity, the person buying the car we wanted to see would still be filling out paperwork. I've never heard of anyone buying a car in less than an hour's time. We had an appointment to see the car. An honest sales person wouldn't sell a car to someone else when there is a potential buyer on the way to the dealership WITH AN APPOINTMENT to see the car, so even if they truly weren't lying and baiting me out there on false pretenses, they still have some of the WORST business practices I've ever seen. I should have known better than to not check this website before coming to Rick Hendrick Mazda Mall of Georgia. It's no wonder why they have the WORST rating of any Mazda dealer on this website.
