Our experience at The Honda Superstore of Lisle was the worst experience we've ever had. It first entailed emailing a request for a quote which Darrell Simmons was so speedy to send out. It was the highest quote in 6 dealerships but since we only live a few blocks from them we decided to go in anyways. Then we got to meet Mark Petersen. What a joy it was working with Mark as he talked down to us and all but made fun of our buying method. Who doesn't shop on the internet for such a large purchase now a days?!? He acted like we were the only ones that did this and that the internet pricing was just a starting point. What BS!! After about an hour of dealing with this kid that was labeled as a manager we then were introduced to Vic Vibhakar. Another bright and shining star of the Honda line-up. After he informed us that we would qualify for an 8% loan and an exteneded warranty for $1500 our payment would superseed $700. Unbelieveable! It just so happens we pre-applied for a loan and got 1.9% APR and secured an extended warranty for $600 elsewhere. Not only that we found out that the warranty that Mr. Vibhakar had given us was only good at their dealership. What good is that if we're out of town or worse yet, out of state! I guess only good if we break down a few miles from their dealership. After this entire ordeal we asked to see a higher up manager. We were told that the general manager was Jeff Carr and that he was busy so couldn't talk to us. Mmm? After what seemed like hours we were walking around and looked into the managers office which they all seemed to go we notice a manager that seemed to be in charge since everyone consulted with him. Was this the ever so busy Jeff Carr? As he busily pounded away at his computer which I guess was more important than talking to a local customer that was tryiing to buy a car? Guess not. We left The Honda of Lisle Superstore absolutely in awe in the way that we were treated. We went the same day to Valley Honda not more than 20 minutes away and walked in and bought our new car. Not a problem in the world there. Not only was it extremely easy to buy the car we got it for under $400 a month which no one has to be a mathmatician, beats $800!!! Valley Honda was clean, had tons of amenities like starbucks coffee and laptops to use. Not to mention like their 3 dozen apple Mac computers in their computer waiting room. We learned our lesson. Drive a little farther and there is a much better deal at Valley Honda. And they treat you with respect and make the whole buying process easy and actually fun. More
Overall my experience was positive. We had a minor hiccup when they priced out our trade-in but at the end it all worked out fine. I requested quotes for 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite from multiple dealer when they priced out our trade-in but at the end it all worked out fine. I requested quotes for 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite from multiple dealerships. The quote that Honda of Lisle sent me was for the exact model including all the accessories I wanted. Other dealerships initially sent me a lower quote and later when I made an inquiry they told me that there was a mistake and the price that I was quoted for was for either 2013 model or 2014 Touring. What a pleasant change after coming from another Honda dealer that wasted our time and gave us the run around. Lisle was willing to work with our target price and also negotiate on the trade-in. I was able to make my decision in about an hour and a half, including the test drive. Scott was friendly without being pushy, well informed, got answers from his sales manager with a speed I am unused to half, including the test drive. Scott Heger made buying a new Honda an incredibly enjoyable and easy experience for my wife and me. Scott listened to and understood my needs, and then, from the HUGE in stock inventory, he was able enjoyable and easy experience for my wife and me. It had to be “sporty”, black with black interior, moon roof, low mileage and within my budget. 3 visits and two test drives later, our decision was made – a sleek, black on black, 2012 Certified Honda CIVIC SI! Kevin, the used car sales manager actually offered me MORE than I had expected for my trade in! There was no big hassling, “games”, going back and forth or hidden fees. Vic, in finance, was well prepared and carefully explained the warranties, & made the paperwork quick and easy for us to fill out and to understand. The owning of a Lisle Honda did not end once we left the dealership – Scott continued to stay in touch as promised to make sure that we were pleased and offered for me to stop in anytime I had a question, a concern or just to visit. Recently, I stopped by to have another key made by Phil in the service department. When my car was returned, it had been washed and vacuumed! I will be taking advantage of their free, monthly, ongoing “new owners” workshop this coming Tuesday night. The dealership is happy, clean, spacious and welcoming. Each and every person that I encountered has treated me as a valued guest and not just a possible customer. Not only would I recommend the Honda Superstore of Lisle to my friends and family, - I already have and will continue to do so! More
