Yes, I would recommend him to this day. However, let me follow up on our to the truth of our experience which I do not think he was totally aware of. I was helping my daughter, a single mom whose car blew up and was about to lose her job because she could not get to work or take her child to daycare because of transportation. She is 22 years old and this was her first time buying experience and for both of us it was a tremendous stressful situation. I was helping her remotely as I live in a different city therefore, we put our trust into Honda of Ocala to do the right thing. Why is it that when you are struggling with credit issues, no money for down payment, you are a woman (yes, there is discrimination in this industry), you work hard for your money and are honest you are ripped off and taken advantage of? On the other hand, if we had stellar credit, several thousand dollars to put down, we would indeed gotten that incredible deal of a lifetime! We did not however. We are poor, struggling and were ripped off by Honda of Ocala! The days prior to getting this car was extremely unbelievable! My daughter was yanked back and forth, made to wait in the parking lot for who knows what for hours in a parked vehicle with her three year old in the car only to be told after three hours to come back tomorrow!! She was never given an opportunity to see the car that was proposed to us, never given an opportunity to test drive any vehicle, never given any choices!! We were told this is it when we arrived to the dealership to close the deal the car was still on the lot with the price in the window still for sale! As in my previous review, we were there again for at least five hours.....back and forth, back and forth....not once was she offered to drive or even see what we were going to be offered. I had no idea! Finally, she drives off with a very happy face and we were exhausted emotionally, physically and financially! She drives the car and hears a rattling noise continously. Takes it to our longtime family mechanic and her Dad (he is very knowledgeable mechanically), turns out to be a valve issue. Diagnosis is engine replacement!!! Now if Honda of Ocala had done their stellar vehicle service as they say they have done, they would have certainly noticed this as every other mechanic noticed immediately without hesitation. How did Honda miss it? Inept mechanics perhaps? Selling us a car knowingly with severe mechanical issues? My guess is both! I have asked them to cancel and void this deal in it's entirety and Mr. Rick Carpenter's response was for me to come in and sit with him and have tea....I am not going to go in and be intimidated by them anymore. This can be handled in other manners besides a face to face. I spoke to a auto wholesaler in my area Alachua today who told me what we financed the vehicle for is totally not what the car is even worth!! Again, we were totally ripped off. In summation, I had to come up with a large deposit which I can't afford, my daughter can't afford, she can barely make the payments on her wages and child support, and now we have to pay to replace a new engine for a car that Honda of Ocala knew was bad.....they knowingly sold us a bad car because we were desparate women plain and simple. I want the deal cancelled immediately! More

We were a true challenge for Ocala Honda, Mike Lehman, Sam Ferron, and everyone else at Ocala Honda whose tireless, and unrelenting efforts to truly help us finally came to fruition! To see her bright smile, the restoration of her confidence as she drove away in the perfect car for her, as her Mother, has made my life complete. Mike Lehman was amazing and his determination to personally see to it that her first time car buying experience as challenged as it may have been, will leave a lasting impression on her future decision making, what it takes to achieve excellent customer service, and the comraderie with which to do what it takes to get a job done for the consumer has set the standards extremely high. In a day of overcoming many obstacles, Mike saw to it that our personal needs were met during our lengthy day at Ocala Honda. He personally escorted us to lunch knowing we weren't that huge of a money making deal but nonetheless, took the time away to take care of us, well, I do not have the words to truly express my gratitude to him and the entire staff of Ocala Honda! I can emphatically recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, caring, outstanding, loyal man. He restored my faith today in that there are still a few really good hearted people who truly want to help you succeed and what he did for me and my daughter today will forever touch my heart. Thank you Mike and Ocala Honda. Andrea and I will forever be loyal customers! Linda L. Vostrejs More

They told me I needed additional work: timing belt, front end bushings, valve cover gasket, etc. at a cost of about one thousand dollars. I do my own work and the timing belt and valve cover gasket were replaced in last 3 years and were fine. After 15000o miles on car the front-end bushings have wear bout enough enough to need replacement, considering I likely will not own the car for along time. I naturally declined their con. If I had much less experience I might have fallen for this con. Buyer beware. More
High Pressure sales Well, here I am, back again. I have gone to this service department twice, both times because of a recall letter I received. They offer you "complim Well, here I am, back again. I have gone to this service department twice, both times because of a recall letter I received. They offer you "complimentary" vehicle checks. My first mistake was to accept this. Both times I went in for a "free" service because of a recall, I wound up spending lots of money, and would be a lot more if I did everything they said to do. But my main complaint is that they didn't do what they said they did. I barely sat down when a lady came and took me to the side and wanted to give me top dollar for my used vehicle as they were in need of my model. I said no, but was taken to the manager anyway. Sat down in his office, waited for him to get off the phone, and his first words were "what kind of vehicle are you interested in" I told him I wasn't and didn't even know why I was in his office. He shook my hand and I left. After some time, the service person I was working with came out and gave me the list of things that absolutely needed to be fixed. Cost was over $1,000. I called my brother in law mechanic, and he came and looked at everything they said, and agreed that I only needed front brakes, not all these fluid flushes, etc. The service employee told me my airbag had already been replaced when I asked her and the oil change. I waited for them to replace my brakes. My brother in law was standing there watching them work (they don't allow you inside for insurance purposes) but he stood outside, in the parking lot. He watched them do something with my airbag, and this was AFTER they told me it had been already replaced. When they said it was ready to go, my b-i-l asked if they had washed it (complimentary), the manager ran his finger down the car and said no, then took it back to have it done.. When I got in, I checked to see if the oil gauge had been reset, it had not, so I asked if they changed the oil. My b-i-l said that the oil had not been changed. So my confidence in this dealer, once again, is zero. I just told them to give me my money back on the oil change, which he gladly did. I would never have gone back to this dealer if it wasn't in the news about how dangerous these airbags were and I needed to have it replaced, which I'm not even sure was done. I would never deal with Honda of Ocala again. They put the fear of God in you if you don't get all these extra things done, which apparently are not necessary. I should have known not to go there, but as I said, I had no choice because of the airbag. My advice to you is, if you go for a specific thing, do NOT let them do anything complimentary to your vehicle. It will cost you dearly for unnecessary work that they might not even do. More

Originally I came in with just a dream to purchase a new Civic. Mike was able to get me into a beautiful, brand-new Accord which I absolutely love!! I've never had such ease in purchasing a vehicle. A few days later I came back and bought my daughter the new Honda Civic of course from Mike Lehman! He's an extremely knowledgeable salesperson and a heck of a nice guy! Not for out of towners This seems like this is a great place to buy a car based on the wonderful reviews… Unless you’re an out of state buyer trying to get everything setup. This seems like this is a great place to buy a car based on the wonderful reviews… Unless you’re an out of state buyer trying to get everything setup. I called the store twice and spoke to what I found out to be two different managers in the used car department. The first guy I spoke to didn't bother to help me at all. First, I wanted to know if the car had a certain package from the dealer, and he told me that it didn't have the package without even going to check. I didn't even expect a definite answer for this because this car is a Kia and the dealership specializes in Hondas, but any effort would have been nice. I saved my main question for last because I knew that he would most likely need to call me back with the answer. Since I’m bringing my own financing from out of state, I needed to know the out-the-door price for the car. Barely even thinking about it, he just added $2k to the price and told me that it would be “about” that much. Well, after I got off the phone, I called Kia with the VIN and they were able to confirm that the car did have both packages that I had originally asked about… The next day, I called back and asked to speak to a different person in sales thinking it was just that one guy, but the experience was a little bit worse. I explained that I was an out of state buyer and why needed the out-the-door price for this car, and the guy basically told me to do the math myself (no kidding). I told him that I thought they calculated all of this, and he told me that the finance guy does: which is a nice way of saying “not my job.” So, at this point, I asked him if he understood my dilemma. His response? – “Nope.” I wanted to make sure he understood why I was asking, so I once again stressed that I was an out of state buyer that needed an exact number to give to my bank, and this guy could care less. I was fed up at this point, so I kindly said “never mind… I’ll just find another car to buy.” His response? – “Okay.” And nope, I never raised my voice or spoke with any kind of negative tone to warrant this. I even called back and spoke to the receptionist (who was very friendly and accommodating), and requested a call back from management. Three days passed, and no call. Maybe I wasn't taken seriously because I didn't make a personal visit, but being 350 miles away made visiting a little tough. I’m not even going to waste time speculating the reasoning for my bad experience. All I know is that it was completely unnecessary, and with a little extra effort, they would have had a new customer that made a journey from 350 miles away just to buy a car from them… More

Since we didn't want to miss this car we quickly made arrangements with the internet chat representative, Matt Kane, to see and drive said vehicle the next day. On arriving at the dealership we were told they didn't know anything about the car. The sales rep spoke to his manager and soon found that it was on the internet, but presently at a manager's home, and would be available as soon as he returned it. We kept checking back to see if it had arrived, and now on 10/05/2014, when we went to check on it again, we were told it had been removed from the internet listing and the price had increased several thousand dollars. Sounded like a bait- and hook- scam to us. We will have to avoid this dealership in the future. More

What a pleasant surprise! We met Mike Lehman and found a real friend and a truly helpful, knowledgeable salesperson. Mike was able to secure a great price for us on the two cars and made the whole process painless. I had researched the cars online and used Edmunds and TrueCar etc., and I based my offers for the cars on internet prices that were extremely low. Mike took my offers to the sales manager and within 5 minutes he came back and said --OK. That was it. No haggle, no hassle. We bought the cars within a very few minutes and I can honestly say it was the best new car sales experience ever. EVER! The whole experience at Honda of Ocala was first class! Now you're thinking - alright, the guy got a great price from the dealership and this Mike Lehman fellow is getting a shout-out because he saved me money and made the whole thing easy. You'd be wrong about that. Mike is getting my enthusiastic recommendation because he is truly a very unusual and unique human being. It's hard to explain - he's hard to explain - but I guarantee that if you are in the market for a car and you go see Mike Lehman at Honda of Ocala you'll come away as impressed and pleased as I was.
