I'd like to thank you for posting the review and story. I'd like to address the story above. When you brought your vehicle in for service you were a bit early for the oil change under warranty as Honda will only pay for the oil change when your maintenance minder is at 15% or less; as I recall you were at approximately 30%. We went ahead at the dealership level and got that covered because we understood you took your time out of your day to have your vehicle serviced. You also pointed out a chip in the paint on the hood area and expressed you did not want your entire hood painted. I explained that typically it's hard to warranty a chip in the paint because that is not a defect but I would goodwill the chip in the paint and get that covered for you. I'm in shock that you feel that you were treated so poorly considering we went above and beyond what your warranty covers,. We also talked on the phone extensively and I explained that American Honda does not provide a "loaner" with warranty repairs unless it's a safety issue and the vehicle is down more than 24 hours. I also explained at a dealership level we have guidelines that we have to follow with American Honda but we can provide alternate transportation options such as Uber or we have rental vehicles available at a reduced rate of $40 per day and the vehicles we have are comparable to what you are driving. In no way are we making a quick profit by charging $40 for a rental. I'm not sure you can rent a pilot or passport anywhere for that rate. You had mentioned that you called Nalley Honda in Brunswick Ga and they provide loaners, I called them today and asked if they provide loaners. They operate off of the same guidelines that we do and they can only provide loaners for safety issues and that they are 6 months out on loaner vehicles but also have rentals available. In closing, we as a dealership understand your frustration with a loaner not being covered under your Honda warranty but we have to abide by American Honda guidelines. Thanks for your reply. I wanted to clarify that the issue with the paint on my car was not simply a paint chip, but rather multiple paint issues that originated from the factory. It appears to be a broader problem rather than an isolated incident. Thanks for letting me change have my first oil change at nearly 7,000 miles. The reminder sticker your dealership placed on my front window says my next oil change is 3,000 miles. Honda can’t have it both ways. Nalley Honda DOES have a loaner program where your dealership has a rental program. Glad we could spend over 50K for a new car and your dealership wants to nickel and dime the customer for everything they can. You talk about how this rental is such a great deal…I told you it’s the principle. I should not pay a penny to have an issue from the factory fixed. You also told me many other customers are disgruntled over your rental policy. Hopefully your dealership can change the policy and apply some ethics training.
