I am really frustrated that I am paying 24k for a car that is doing nothing. But messing up I purchased my "certified" preowned 2010 hyundai genesis coupe with 27k from Charles in July 2013. I went in to specifically look at this vehicle. After searching the lot for 20 minutes to find out one of the employees was driving the vehicle as a demo we found it. It was filthy but Charles assured me it would be detailed. So we took it on a test drive and I fell in love with the car. After signing the papers and them detailing the car I went out to look at my brand new to me car. It was covered in tree sap. Charles basically told me I was on my own I purchased it. As a first time car buyer I didn't know any better. I'm pretty decent at detailing so I figured a clay bar would get the sap out. Long story short it didn't so I got a quote to get it taken care of what needed to be done wade wanted me to have their "detail professional" do it. So they wetsanded and buffed the hood and spoiler and they sanded through the paint. They had the people that paint the cars repaint it and it doesn't match. I contacted hyundai motor America about the issue and they had me get a quote. I spoke with David mayfield and he said he would have jack elision redo the car. Why would I send it back to the people that messed it up Since I purchased the car. It has been in for issues almost every month since purchase for the following issues Headlights and tail lights were leaking Transmission 5th gear grind ( it's grinding in 6th now) Pulls to the right while driving Drivers side rear window leaked. Steering wheel peeling (one time replacement I was told) it's peeling a month later.Sunroof leaking causing stained headliner. I was told it was the drains so they cleaned them but it still leaks Outside door handle stopped working. I haven't had a chance to bring the car back in for the sunroof, the steering wheel and the seat shaking There are several posts on the forum that hyundai motor America is supposed to be following. Leonid made the whole process so enjoyable and relaxing for me. It was my first time doing this and I was very nervous! My hands were shaking. I was given so much advice from people on how the salesman will try and take advantage. I never felt that way with Leonid. St. Augustine Hyundai is sooo lucky to have someone of his experience and caliber to work for them! Leonid was wonderful and made me feel more relaxed. The other staff involved did the same. Jack was patient with me and Sean Hayes came over to introduce himself to me. What a great place. I will definetily recommend everyone to Leonid for certified used and Sean for new vehicles. We are both 70 years old and most car purchases that we experienced were generally not pleasant. Even if we found an honest salesman, the sales manager would get involved to attempt a "hard close" (sales manipulation) on us. I finally developed a protective set of buying criteria that I would lay out to a car salesperson upon initial contact. If they started to B.S. us, or use manipulative techniques, we would leave. Hyundai of St. Augustine was an unusually pleasant buying experience. Gordon (an experienced salesman) was pleasant, straight up, and willing to honestly fulfill our wants and needs. He did not try to bluff his way through any questions that he was not sure about, but simply said "I will find out for you"......and he would get the specific information that we needed. The sales manager did not say one thing that attempted to "close the deal". He was the kind of lighthearted guy that I would like to have as a neighbor. Maybe he has the freedom to make you feel more at home because the dealership is family owned and is not part of a large corporate chain. He also gave us a copy of the Truecar.com price report that most dealers would not want you to see. I received discounts that I did not know I was eligible for. Financing was several steps better then I had imagined before coming to the dealership. No juggling of numbers. Obviously we will be driving a new Hyundai, thanks to all of our purchasing criteria being met, in spades. More
Great experience start to finish My wife and I searched for a used Hyundai Genesis with purpose. We found two that fit our criteria, one in our town of Jacksonville, FL and another a short drive away in St. Augustine, FL via the web. I went to the closest dealer first largely for the convenience, but their model also had the V8 4.6L engine too. Without much detail, the experience there was not good. I spent valuable time on the phone with both their sales rep and Darryl Clark from HSA (Hyundai St. Augustine) and during that time, I managed to discuss details about our needs with respect to the desired transaction and we even crunched a number or two in the process. Without spending much time about the OTHER dealership, I will mention one detail for contrast sake. I mentioned time before. When my wife and I went (with the kids) to the other dealership, we sought the rep whom we dealt with via phone and began the negotiations process with him after the test drive. His first "offer" from the dealership began with a price four thousand dollars more than the price we began negotiations from earlier in the day! It also included a number that was insultingly low for our trade, and in summary, was seven thousand dollars above where our negotiations left off. Not only was it a waste of time to have called previously, but it wasn't a good showing for that representative to have even approached us with a negotiations sheet that was frankly embarrassingly off for their dealership. I and my wife were bewildered and insulted and I hope that isn't how they want their average customer to feel doing business there..... Enter the experience at HSA.... I began with Mr. Clark. He was clear, professional, and concise. He appeared to value the time we were sharing by asking what I thought were professional and pertinent questions in a manner that wasn't off putting at all. The specific vehicle we were reaching out to HSA about wasn't available as it was currently under negotiations with another customer and we ended that call with a commitment from Mr. Clark that if anything changed or anything else that met our desired criteria arose, that he would contact us immediately. A short while later, he called to share a couple of other options and to say that the original interest Genesis with low miles may also become available. Another short while later, he called to say that our interest vehicle was available as the other deal didn't materialize. My wife and I were already planning our visit after work to the other dealership and decided we would go early the next day to HSA if we failed to get that other vehicle in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville dealership failed us miserably. Enter HSA. I spoke with Mr. Clark early in the AM based on the website's stated dealership hours. At 7:30am, way ahead of his normal duty time, he professionally handled my call and arranged to meet with me later at the dealership, again being courteous and clearly showing he valued OUR time. He shared that he had another arranged appointment with another customer and that he may need to have his associate Randy Selph assist us with our potential purchase. I was delighted by Randy's professionalism and product knowledge. He knew the answer to every question and also showed he understood what Mr. Clark and I had discussed previously. I was by myself with two small children which made focusing on the transaction for me a challenge to say the least, but Mr. Selph was patient and even helped make the kids feel special too. When we went inside to discuss the numbers, his first presentation was exactly in line with what Mr. Clark and I had discussed previously with no errors, no smoke, and that alone told me that I was in the right place to do our business. There was no back and forth necessary, I was pleased and agreed to purchase right then. What a relief!!!! HSA provided the exact opposite of the painful car buying experience! When we visited with the business manager, Joseph Cassata, it was more of the same. He provided paper and crayons for my son, and interacted in a way with him that showed he understood what my challenges were, this I really appreciated. He shared some additional financing options and also explained thoroughly the documents that needed to be signed later by my wife later that evening. In closing, I would absolutely recommend HSA as a place to buy a car, and will no doubt use them again for my next vehicle purchase. JB @ Jacksonville, FL More

Who made us feel very comfortable about looking for a used certified car. We were interested in the elantra series and he showed us what was on the lot with the information we gave him. He didn 't have us look at cars below or out of our range. He worked with us until we could come up with a deal that was agreeable for us both. A really good experience, for usually a hassle of an event. I would recommend anyone to visit the dealership when looking for a car. More

He told me about a car that they had just bought and that wasn't even on the lot yet. I knew that I was VERY interested but that I could not get there until the end of the week. He told me he will try his best to "hide" it until I could get there. In all, I left there with the car that I went to get and I could not be happier with it!
