Deposited check before authorized After deciding to purchase the new Hyundai, we were surprised when the cost was increased nearly $4,000.00 above the visible sticker price. The financ After deciding to purchase the new Hyundai, we were surprised when the cost was increased nearly $4,000.00 above the visible sticker price. The financial rep advised us that it was due to "Dealer Prep" costs. We decided to go ahead and purchase the car anyway but advised the financial rep that our checking account would need a transfer of funds for us to complete the purchase, Both he and the salesman told us that was not a problem and they would hold the check until we called and advised them the funds were available. To accommodate that action, we were required to sign a loan agreement that they told us would be shredded as soon as our check cleared the bank. Less than 24 hours later, I was advised by my bank that our checking account was over $7,000.00 underfunded because our check had been deposited. This created a financial emergency and I had to transfer additional funds immediately. The follow up apologies from Jim Falk Motors was almost laughable. The first caller said he was sorry for the mistake and offered me free detailing when I came in. The second caller wasn't much better as he offered free service for the first year; something I had already paid for and was included in our contract. Since then, I have been notified by the credit rating company that my FICO has dropped by 11 points. All of this is why the one star rating. I would place a negative sign if I could. PS: the mid level ratings for Jesse and Gonzalo is due to their not keeping their word about holding our check and the cavalier attitude about the increased costs for Dealer Prep. PPS: Hyundai is not listed for vehicle purchased. More
