The service technicians don’t take pride in their work and try to get things done as fast as possible with no concern for your vehicle. We were in the market for a work car for my husband. We decided on a 2022 Volkswagen Passat. We purchased a warranty because we have always been warranty people. We bought a quart of oil and added it. It happened again a week or so later. We brought it in and it was decided that the whole engine would have to be torn apart and b/c it was loss of oil, it was one of two things not covered in our warranty. Robert and the whole Joe Machens Volkswagen team did everything they could to help us out. They listened to our concerns and offered to buy the car back from us. This is unheard of in this industry as we are serial car buyers. We managed to leave there with another 2022 Passat and the same monthly payment we had before. We would certainly buy from this company again and I have every confidence that if something goes wrong, they will make sure to make it right no matter what. We came in for a recall fix for the engine cover, but a few weeks earlier we noticed oil on our driveway. The underside of the car had oil covering the plastic skid plate. As we arrived at Machens for our recall appointment I mentioned the oil issue and they immediately began looking into it. Apparently an assembly robot had malfunctioned on torquing a bolt down on a few cars and our Atlas was one of them. The service mechanics had the bolt and repaired it properly. After several days with no updates, I had to call multiple times only to receive inconsistent information about readiness and newly discovered issues. Promised callbacks did not happen. Despite the car being undrivable and in their possession, I was denied a goodwill loaner and could not reach finance when attempting to discuss options, my call went straight to voicemail. I escalated the issue to VW corporate simply to get basic communication and temporary transportation while waiting on parts. More
Jade she was ok to begin with but as soon as the sale was completed became very hateful. There was a warranty issue as the car is older.
