My appointment for an oil change/recalls and a possible alignment was scheduled for 9/15/25 in the morning and was given the option to drop off the vehicle early. Was told it may get worked on if there’s a alignment was scheduled for 9/15/25 in the morning and was given the option to drop off the vehicle early. Was told it may get worked on if there’s availability before my scheduled appointment. Dropped off vehicle on 9/10 and unfortunately for me, it did not get worked on by the end of the week(9/13). Not a big deal as I was advised it may or may not happen. I inquired for an update Monday(9/15) afternoon and was told that it did not get worked on. 9/16 was the same as the tech was not in. By Thursday(9/18) is when I was able to pick up my vehicle. Service adviser was friendly and easy to work with but dissatisfied that on my scheduled appointment day that the work on my vehicle did not even get started. It took 4 days for the service to get completed and on the 4th day for me to get a confirmation that the work was completed. More
I brought my car in for recall work to be done and it seemed like the service staff worked overtime to get me to pay for another repair. At first they reported my front cover was leaking. I asked “What d seemed like the service staff worked overtime to get me to pay for another repair. At first they reported my front cover was leaking. I asked “What do you mean front cover?” I assumed he meant the valve cover and he was suggesting changing the gasket, but he just kept saying front cover. For further clarification I asked “What is it leaking?” He just kept telling me it was leaking and that the repair would cost $1800. I know that if it is the valve cover gasket that it would be leaking oil. I primarily work on my own cars and have not noticed a leak, but I do have a mechanic I use when I don’t have the time and he had just done work recently on the car. I asked him if he noticed a valve cover leak. He stated he had not. I also looked into the repair and realized if it was a problem, I could fix it myself for about $100. The service rep then reported that while trying to bleed the brakes, after the flexible line replacement, that my brake pedal broke. I asked “How is that possible?” He said it was rusted. I asked “Inside the car?” How is that possible. If I have a rusted brake bracket, then I have severe moisture inside the car and the area it is attached to has to be compromised as well. He also stated it was missing hardware. Again, I don’t know how this would be possible. No one has ever touched the brake pedal. This was all based on the service tech stating the pedal went to the floor while bleeding the brakes. He stated he would see if Ford would cover it under the recall. He reported the next day that they would not. I asked an acquaintance of mine who works for Ford if they bleed brakes by “pumping the brakes” like I do as backyard mechanic. He stated “Rarely, but maybe all the machines were in use.” I am not sure if I was being swindled or if the young mechanics don’t realize that the brake pedal will go the floor while you are bleeding the brakes by “pumping” them for 2 reasons: 1) you have air in the line. 2) every time you open the bleeder valve, you are opening the system, so of course the pedal will travel to the floor. You don’t get a firm pedal until you release all of the air and close the hydraulic system. Either way it cost be $422 for a repair I don’t believe I needed ( they were kind enough not to charge me labor). When I picked up the car I asked the service rep if he had a picture of the broken part. He scrolled a long time through his phone ( I thought this just happened) and showed me a blurry picture of some rusted metal that looked nothing like it came from a brake assembly. I blame myself for not going immediately to see what was going on or for not asking for the failed part. Regardless, I would not trust the Ken Ganley Service Center to even do a simple service; like do an oil change or rotate tires. For any future service I will seek out a different Ford dealership. More
