We had a 2010 Elantra that was coming to the end of its lease and were interested in purchasing a 2013 Elantra to replace it. Our experience with a different dealership for the 2010 had not been all that lease and were interested in purchasing a 2013 Elantra to replace it. Our experience with a different dealership for the 2010 had not been all that great, so we decided to travel a little further to give Lester Glenn in Toms River a try. This is one of the first things we told our salesperson, Brian Showers. He assured us that Customer Satisfaction was top priority at Lester Glenn and that we wouldn't be disappointed. That is putting it mildly! We had done our research and brought with us printouts for three virtually identical Elantra Limiteds with Nav package shown as being in inventory. Brian brought one out, we test drove it, and decided to purchase it. However, this review is not so much about the purchase experience, which was very good, but about the outstanding service provided by Brian post-sale. We purchased the car and drove it home on a Monday evening with everything working fine. When my wife, who is a nurse, went to drive the car to work Tuesday evening, she couldn't get the Nav system to work. I tried it as well on Wednesday, and it was definitely locked up. We took the car in on Thursday. The service department couldn't get the Nav system to reset either, so they ordered a replacement unit. When we hadn't heard anything by the following Thursday, I called and was told the Nav unit was shown as being on order but had not arrived. Another week went by and this time I was told the Nav unit was on back order and would be another 2+ weeks getting in. At this point I called Brian since he had indicated he was to be our point of contact regarding customer satisfaction. My intent was to request that he provide feedback on our situation through his management to Hyundai. I told him I understood that things sometimes broke, and that my complaint was not with him or the dealership, but that Hyundai couldn't seem to provide a replacement Nav unit to fix the problem in a timely manner. This is where Brian showed me that "customer satisfaction" was more than just words. He said he would have to clear it with his manager, but he thought he could arrange for us to have our Nav unit replaced by one from a car in inventory, and that the one ordered for our car could be used to replace it when it eventually came in. He called me back in a few minutes (this was on a Saturday morning) saying he had the approval to go ahead with the swap. Shortly afterward, I received a call from the service department and we scheduled an appointment for Monday. It is now Monday evening, three weeks to the day after we purchased the car, and we again have a working Nav unit. Brian taking the initiative to solve our problem "next business day" by making the very unexpected offer to replace our defective Nav unit with one from a car in inventory is truly an indication that "customer satisfaction" has real meaning at Lester Glenn Hyundai. More
It was my birthday and we decided to go car shopping. We met Bob when we were looking for a new car. Bob was very friendly and really listened to our requests. He was very careful in showing and explaining the various options. Once having seen the cars, it was very easy to transfer these options into the car I wanted. I decided on the Sonata Limited with all the extras, including the double sunroof. My car was soooo special that it was not in the state of NJ. Bob and his team took extra special care in trying to find the car I wanted. My car was found in Del and it was delivered to NJ within a week. Thank you Bob for helping me to find the car I wanted and making my birthday so special. I REALLY LOVE MY CAR!! More
This was by far the best experience we ever had buying a car. We took a fair amount of time researching cars and visiting many dealerships. They told us one price over the phone and when we got there they would not honor the price and were just not honest and knowledgable. When we arrived at Lester Glenn we were treated great. The staff was very knowledgable, friendly, and honest. The price we were quoted was the price we were charged and it was much less then the other dealerships. We were very happy with the service we recieved and we are very happy with our new car. We will be buying all of our new cars from Lester Glenn from now on! More
Outstanding Customer Service which is rare these days to find anywhere! Its great to see a dealership that breaks the "mold" provides professionalism, friendly service but most of all listens to their custo find anywhere! Financing was unbelieveable, worked with me to get the new car I truly wanted and desperately needed. My experience with Lester Glenn was so incredible that I'm still in shock that it was so easy, relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Hyundai truly has a great reputation in this dealership thanks to Frank, Dave and all their employees. My girlfriend I and were interested in buying a Hyundai Sonata Limited. The gas mileage, looks, equipment and warranty is which steered us toward the Sonata compared to other cars in its class. We visited a few different dealers as well as shopping online and via phone. We found most of the dealers in our area, the ones with the crazy commercials, had very aggressive sales tactics without much substance. Their cars were all advertised with some great savings and incentives which when you look closer were nothing but discounts on aftermarket marked up prices. Of course you can elect to buy the car w/o the extras but then you were basically close to what the car's MSRP listed for. To me it was just smoke and mirrors. Once they got you in their showroom (more like a den of lions) they made it difficult for you to leave. I relish these type sales tactics and enjoy the entertaining BS that goes on as the salesperson and manager go back and forth. Unfortunately for them I am a straight shooter and expect the same from people I do business with. When I first contacted Lester Glen it was via the internet. They called me about setting up an appointment I must admit when I first contacted them I was probably the more aggressor due to the experience I had at the other dealers. Heather the salesperson heard my concerns and immediately promised that the experience I had at the other dealers was not how Lester Glen runs their business. Still being skeptical we went to see what they would offer but with caution. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. the showroom was very professional without the overly zesty sales centers I had seen at other dealers. Instead of treating you like cattle or just a number Heather treated almost as if we were personal friends. I can tell you that Lester Glenn Auto Group does not participate in the sales tactics I had found at the other dealers. I found them to be very honest, friendly and professional. Ron the sales manager also did a great job in explaining Lester Glens way of treating their customers. He gave us the bottom line price they would be able to sell the car for. He also gave us a price on a 2006 Toyota Avalon with 155K miles on it that I honestly wouldn’t pay for it myself> I really have no idea how they will make any money on it when they sell it. Ron suggested we take the new car home, prior to actually buying it, for the night to see if we really wanted it. I mean come on. How great was this. Ron was so confident on the deal (price of new car and trade in) he was offering us that he offered to let us have the car for the weekend as well as all the paper work. He told us to shop around and compare his deal. I love this. When you go to most dealers they always try to tell you that BS line "this price is only for today and if you leave we can’t guarantee it tomorrow". They usually also swear their price will be the best. Seldom do they write it down and give it to you. If they were so confident their price is the best then they wouldn’t have an issue giving you the quote. That is exactly what Ron did. When I buy a car I never buy it from the first place I go. I certainly do my homework and I buy it from who offers me the best deal. Once we decided to buy the car from Lester Glen we then had to decide on how we wanted to finance it. That’s where Paul, the finance manager who was extremely busy, took his time with us to see what would be the best options. He was very good and certainly was a huge help. He also showed us the other aftermarket options such as extending the bumper to bumper to 100k miles. He was never pushy but instead laid back with what extra options may work best if any. As we waited for our car to be prepped we walk the lot a bit to check out the other cars. This is where we bumped into a guy wearing a golf shirt and nice pants. I did not know he was affiliated with the dealership. He asked us if we were being helped. Once we said we just bought a car he congratulated us and said if there was anything else he or Lester Glen could do to let him know. He was extremely friendly and appreciative of how we spoke of our positive experience at the dealership. We later found out that that guy was actually the owner. I find that extremely refreshing that the owner of a big dealership on a holiday weekend is floating around making sure his customers are being helped, satisfied and happy. Kudos to him. If it were me I would have been on the beach. We ended the journey with Heather showing us and also setting up some of the technical features of the car. She spent a lot of time with us talking about each feature and best way to manage them. She started our experience with Lester Glen treating us as friends we certainly left the parking lot knowing we both had made a new friend. Lastly, those expensive mark-ups such as mud flaps, pin stripping, door guards and wheel trim that the other dealers charge close to $5k over MSRP for were all included in the price on the car we purchased which was several thousand below the MSRP. We were not aware of this until we actually got the car. Also included that most of the other dealers did not offer was a lifetime oil changes for the car and loaner cars if the car is left over night for any reason. Just Awesome. Highly recommend this dealer to anyone. More
My husband and I hate to buy cars, we dread going into any dealership. We did some research about the Hyundai sonata and it seemed like the best fit for us but we kept putting it off because of the bull any dealership. I went on line and they set me up with an appointment, quickly. We met Bob Reyes and he took us on a test drive asked us about our trade in and was truly a joy to deal with. No haggling , He told us what incentives they had and what we qualified for and asked if we were happy with the price. He even bought us a pizza. We had no idea we would buy the car that day but we drove it home after Bob set up the blue tooth and other cool features the new sonatas have. Mike Cagnano also walked us through all of the warranties and it was strangely a very pleasurable experience.
