OUR HISTORY Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees. TODAY Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States. We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions. We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. I'm equally glad to hear that Bryan delivered a “friendly” 5-star experience, he and the entire sales team work very hard to provide our customers with a fun and memorable purchasing experience. Bryan will be glad to know you appreciated the process. As far as the dealership ambiance and amenities go I'm sorry it fell short of your expectations. To us this facility is still somewhat new as we've only been in this building for about five years. We do our best to maintain a clean, safe and fun environment for our employees and guests. And in an effort to keep the overhead down to offer a more competitive price, we take a pragmatic approach to the amenities, we have a tendency to keep things simple, we don't try to be something we are not. Do we have a Starbucks coffee bar or a putting green? No! But that $40,000 car you bought yourself only ended up running you $32k (and change); we'd rather keep things simple if it means keeping more of your hard earned money in your pocket. We value our customers above all, and my goal is to keep our business relationship strong. So as you point out, maybe it’s time for us to step back and take another look at it, the last thing we would ever want is one of our good customers thinking we don’t value their business or their opinion.
