OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

Best Car Experience Ever I called Lithia Hyundai and got a hold of Joe. He was very personable and very understanding of my needs. I am trying to purchase a home, and was hopi I called Lithia Hyundai and got a hold of Joe. He was very personable and very understanding of my needs. I am trying to purchase a home, and was hoping to lower my overall residual payments and I thought trading in my vehicle was a good way to do that. When I arrived at Lithia, Joe set me up with Cody. He was also kind and knowledgeable. They took the time to find the best offer they could for me. They ended up being able to lower my monthly payments and my interest rate significantly and I walked away with a fantastic 2008 Pontiac G6. I am absolutely in love with my vehicle!!! I will continue to refer people to Lithia and I will go back myself for all my future car needs. Thanks Guys!!! More
