I have bought several cars in the past and enjoy the car buying experience, but this turned out to be the worst nightmare with the worst service possible. I found a "good deal" online and called in the morning to ensure that the car was available and that I qualified for all applicable rebates for that price and there would only be standard taxes and fees on top of that. Once I arrive to the dealership, I see that they are doing a major renovation and have placed the sales office in a trailer. So I meet ANGELO, the sales associate I spoke with over the phone that morning, and he remembers exactly the car I'm looking for so he says he will get the keys and be right back. One hour later (no exaggeration), he frantically comes back and says that the car is in a holding lot 45 minutes north. Angelo says he's embarrassed because he knows I drove from Orlando to Clearwater to buy that specific car. Regardless of this, I still give the dealership a chance and agree to talking numbers to see if the car should be transported if I buy it. Then Angelo proceeds to show us a list price that's $4,000 higher than the price I agreed with him over the phone. He goes on to say that the price online is with all qualifying rebates and before the DEALER ADDENDUM of $2,000. I immediately ask for a manager. The sales manager, MIGUEL, tries to do the typical dealership runaround of how much I want to pay per month. I instantly call his b.s. and tell him I came for the price I confirmed with over the phone, and that mandatory dealer installation fees are false advertisement and means for legal action against the dealership. At this point, the GSM, BRENT TANSY, steps in and tries to resolve the situation. He continued to lower the price to try and save the sale and reduce escalation, but I told him that no matter what the price is, I wouldn't buy a car from LOKEY NISSAN because of its wrongful business practices. He continues to say that Lokey is the best selling car dealer on the coast, so I ask him if they achieve that morally and thru honest business practices. His reaction was my confirmation that Lokey is built on the foundation of greed, sleaziness, and inconsideration. There are better places you can go to buy a car, DO NOT TRUST Lokey. More

K***n responds to me with a form email, saying essentially I have two choices....he can call me, or I can schedule a test drive. Due to the distance from dealer, dropping in for a test drive was impossible. Therefore, I call him up, again convey my interest, and offer to send pics of the car I would be trading, VIN, etc. K***n tells me he will put the numbers together for me, and reach back out. Most of the day goes by before I decide to reach back out, only to have him respond "I haven't forgotten about you". The majority of the following day goes by, still nothing. Again, I reach back out to K***n. K***n says he's waiting for his sales manager to put the numbers together.......that he's been using this car as his personal demo. The following day, still having heard nothing, I finally sent K****n a message telling him to forget about it. I knew my brief encounter with this employee, was a mere glimpse of things to come. As a result, I've concluded they must sell TONS of Nissan demos in the $80-$85k range, because they had no time for a buyer of said vehicle that was totally interested, qualified, and capable of purchasing. Likely the worst experience I've ever had attempting to purchase a vehicle. More

Switch and Bait Scam Even with the many negative reviews, I decided to give this dealership a chance because of their prices [of new cars]. Me and the employee that worked with me, Kevin Bashaw, were down to the final details of the deal and I was ready for paperwork to be submitted to NMAC, but not before I asked him to send me a copy of the invoice that he would send NMAC. A car that was listed on the website at $15,900 ended up OTD @ $22,000...what? That is insane. I had a trade that I bought cash so I did not owe anything on my trade. Although they do have a disclosure on their website about pricing ...it obviously says you have to finance with NMAC to get the listed pricing, it also states that all prices are "PLUS taxes, tags, title and registration fees. $797 Dealer Documentation Fee and does NOT include dealer installed options or appearance packages" and that pricing is subject to change, but what it does not say is that this price includes discounts such as "Military, College Grad, One to One rewards, Lease Loyalty, NMAC Lease, rebate" according to Kevin. Apparently all of these discounts added up to over $7000 [...$7000 more than the price listed on the website BEFORE any other fees/taxes/ trade discounts were added] What a scam. Kevin was not upfront about the pricing or discounts when I told him ever so clearly, that I was coming to this dealer strictly because of price. I understand your job is to sell people cars and that a dealership has to make money, but you shouldn't have unethical business practices trying to get over on people. Unless other employees handle things in a more honest manner, the only people that I can imagine that buys cars from this place are those who don't know any better or those who do not question the pricing! I bought my car from another Nissan dealer which DID honor their online pricing ;D Couldn't be happier and I saved myself bout 7 hours of driving...WIN WIN! More
