The service manager at Long-McArthur talked with me about their misdiagnosis, and he agreed to refund the money that we had paid there, since we had to pay another dealership to make the necessary repairs (and thus pay repetitive charges from those already paid). The refund check arrived yesterday.

We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and we looked into your concerns. After talking to our Service Department, it looks like you had some noise coming from the timing cover. From our records there was a Service Bulletin from Ford and we performed those repairs but the noise continued. On another visit, we contacted Ford's Service Hotline. They told us that if the noise persisted after performing the TSB then to compared it to another similar vehicle. We did have a vehicle similar to yours on our used lot and noticed the same noice when cold. Ford told us that it was normal for a vehicle when it is cold. I'm sorry that we could not fix the problem, unfortunately some times we are not able to fix the problem, but it does look like we did the best that we could and even contacted Ford's hotline to find a fix to the problem. Thank you for bringing this issue to our concern.
