Another Great Service Experience At Maita Toyota We have been going to Maita Toyota since 2008 when we first bought our Camry Hybrid XLE. Since then we have traded in the Camry and bought a new Avalo We have been going to Maita Toyota since 2008 when we first bought our Camry Hybrid XLE. Since then we have traded in the Camry and bought a new Avalon Hybrid Limited there. Service wise, we have (2) two hybrids in our family, our daughter and husband have (3) Toyota vehicles and our son and his wife have a Highlander Limited Hybrid. All of those vehicles have been serviced at Maita. Our primary Service Advisor was Mark Hylton (before he retired) and now it is Steve Morris. We totally trust their judgement and rely on them to give us sound advise when any service or maintenance issue arrises. This time was a 10k/6mth service on the Avalon and Steve had us in and out of there in about an hour. We have total confidence in the service we receive from Steve Morris and Maita Toyota. Really long wait I had an appointment for an oil change scheduled at 10:20am. I arrived at 10:17am and waited 30 minutes in the car before they checked me in. Then t I had an appointment for an oil change scheduled at 10:20am. I arrived at 10:17am and waited 30 minutes in the car before they checked me in. Then they informed me that it would take 1-1/2 hours to perform the oil change. In fact, it took nearly three hours. When the advisor went over the report with me, he didn't even mention that it showed that I had two burned out marker lights. I requested that they change the bulbs while I was there. They informed me that it would take a half hour for this 5-minute maintenance item. In fact, it took an hour. I was surprised that they didn't do the check up first and offer to change the bulbs while they were doing the oil change. It seems unreasonable to spend 4 hours at the shop for a simple oil change and change a couple of marker bulbs. I have come to Maita several times for major maintenance and have always been very happy with their service, but the wait this time seems totally unreasonable. Also, I was surprised to discover that the guy directing people in the garage turned out to be an independent contractor that replaces windshields. More

Chaos began two days earlier I was called by the service department on Monday, Aug. 27 to confirm my scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 2:40. Thanks for the courtesy ca I was called by the service department on Monday, Aug. 27 to confirm my scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 2:40. Thanks for the courtesy call, but I didn't make an appointment for that day or time. The service rep said the appointment was made when I was at Maita about a week earlier to have a tire replaced. I told the service rep that I would not have made an appointment on a day or at a time that I would be at work. So, an appointment was made for Thursday, Aug. 30 at 9:40 a.m. I arrived for that appointment a few minutes early, pulled into the appointment lane. I was met by an attendant, asked how he could help me. I said I had an appointment for scheduled maintenance, and my name was not showing up on his list of appointments. No matter, I was accepted and led inside. I was told 90 minutes to two hours for the work by the desk clerk. About an hour or so later, the desk clerk found me in the waiting area, and said the chip on my windshield couldn't be repaired because there was concern that process could cause further damage to the winidshield. No problem I said. The desk clerk then told me I'd be out of there in 5-10 minutes. Well, it wasn't 5-10 minutes, of 10-15 minutes, or 15-20 minutes. It was more like 30 minutes. So here's my issue: If I was told 30 minutes, I would have accepted that. But when you tell a customer 5-10 minutes, you create a very real expectation of being done with the appointment in a very short amount of time. When it's about three times as long as that, you have the customer down. And that's not fair to the mechanics and anyone else who has had to service the car. The bottom line is, don't create a false expectation of completion time. Overestimate the time. I left feeling like my appointment was screwed up by phone on Monday, and my time was messed with upon my visit. I'm not going to review this on Google or Facebook. But someone at Maita should be aware of this. I would only recommend Maita because you have been handling my scheduled maintenance for 11 years and have been pretty good. More

Great service experience as usual I made an appointment for the 5,000 mile service and happened to look at my service records right before the appointment and realized I should have sc I made an appointment for the 5,000 mile service and happened to look at my service records right before the appointment and realized I should have scheduled a 24-month major service. I figured the service department wouldn't be able to change it because they'd have scheduled a much shorter amount of time for the 5,000 mile minimum maintenance. So I decided waiting until the next service interval for the major maintenance wouldn't be that big a deal. But while I was talking to the service technician when I arrived for my appointment, I mentioned my mistake and he switched me to the 24-month service. What a relief. Everyone is always helpful and accommodating at this service center. I live in Elk Grove and I've been bringing my Toyotas to the dealership on Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento for service since I bought my first one 30 years ago. Everyone there is also very pleasant and easy to talk to. I can't recommend these people enough. More
