My rating of this dealership went up a couple of notches with the latest interaction with Tyler West over the last two weeks. Special attention was required to maintain the safety of driving my car and Tyler was not only courteous and helpful but stepped up to make a solution happen quickly. He was professional and clear with details, and patient with my questions. I look forward to interacting with him again for service. More

I’ve owned 3 Subarus and have very been pleased with the products. However, my recent customer experience at Maple Hill service was not very good. I had rodent damage in the dash of the car and filed an insurance claim. I decided that only a Subaru tech could do this job and took it to Maple Hill. What I tho't would take a few days, took 2 weeks to get the job done, though it wasn't done well. Being without my car for 2 weeks was very inconvenient especially since I live 24 miles away. 1. I was asked to bring my car in on a Tuesday 1/30/18 at 8:00 am. It sat for 3 days or more untouched. When no one contacted me. I called a few times to inquire but did not actually talk to anyone and get answers so I left messages. I had to drive to the dealership in a borrowed car to get information about my car. 2. On the first visit, I talked to the service mgr. who informed me that they couldn't work on it because the tech was sick. I get that but why not call me so I can use my car until the tech returns or give me a loaner? 3. I called several times thereafter and left VM messages over the 2 week period. Only twice do I recall someone actually returning my calls. 4. Once they finally did remove the dash it was left that way for a week or so. I was told they were waiting on the insurance adjuster to show up. So I called my insurance agent and he said they had no record of Maple Hill contacting them. All they needed to do was send an estimate to the insurance claims. It was all very confusing. 5. Not getting my calls returned, I had to drive to the dealership again to check on the progress and get answers as to why it was taking so long. I was told they were awaiting parts which I understood. I asked for a rental since the job took so long but was told they didn't have one. 6. I finally got the car back 2 weeks later. Once the car heated up the rodent smell in the defrost still remained. I’m reluctant to bring it in again—even more so because it was an insurance job and they will likely not pay for a second visit. 7. Lastly, the car was dirty inside, especially the windshield. It was scuffed up in my line of sight. The door panels were dirty. My GPS was not reattached to the windshield but scattered around the inside of the car. As you can tell I’m not satisfied. The odor is bad and the lack of customer service and communication were poor. This kind of customer service would not fly at my workplace. I’m not sure if MH is understaffed or inexperienced but something needs to change if you want the service department to be world class. I’ll be reluctant to bring my vehicle in any time soon. More

I have a fairly long story regardin For those of you out there who are considering a Subaru via Maple Hill I would implore you not to take that path. I have a fairly long story regarding my 2017 Subaru WRX/STI. I will start by stating that I am a 33 year old male with a family. For those of you still with me here is my story I hope it does two things for you. 1- encourages you to remember there are many options available to you as the customer and the purchasing power is yours to keep. Make the best decision you can and shop other dealers even for the same brand as in my story all dealerships are not created equal regardless of brand. 2- helps the group at Maple Hill learn and realize that they lost a level headed influential customer through multiple failures to treat me with respect, dignity or family as the brand demands and declares. In roughly November/December after having my STI for a few months I took it to the drive through car wash to knock the Michigan salt off the body. I was greeted by a gentlemen who told me that he would not permit me to go through the wash due to the spoiler on the rear. I informed him that my car is brand new. He then told me and I quote as it is seared into my mind "ok Ill let you through this one time but if something happens you and I are going to have a serious discussion". A serious discussion I thought? How interesting of a way to treat a "valued" customer as a criminal in the event their wash process damages my 2017 car. Also, I found it interesting that I am a 33 year old level headed male with a family who just got the "father son talk" from a gentlemen that couldn't have been over 25. I digress. Sadly my dissatisfied experience goes much deeper. If I haven't lost you yet stay tuned because I promise you the rest will make you rethink your decision. In early January I contacted the service department as my car seemed extremely sluggish and would not engage the turbo past 10 PSI. Normal boost pressure on my car is around 15 PSI give or take. I contacted them on a Monday morning informing them of my longish story or concern with the cars performance. The man whom I had the pleasure of speaking with spoke to me as if I had no clue about my car and that I didn't have the right amount of oil or correct gas in the car and to make even more awesome he told me he didn't have the time to talk to me if you will because he was very booked and backed up. I asked if I could at least drop mine off and they could take there time with it just provide me with a loaner or rental until repaired back to satisfaction. I was told that was not an option, but they could surely give me a ride home. I said that doesn't work for me I have to have a set of wheels. I don't care if it is a $1,000 rust box. Just don't make me keep driving mine and creating more damage potentially. At the end of the conversation I feel he most likely could feel my frustration and desperation for help and I got the best question I could have ever heard "HOW OLD ARE YOU"????? This really stung at a level that I cannot begin to define. I was discriminated against due to my age. Explain that away any how you feel like it, but this question was asked in a demeanor that in no way was relevant. I felt accused again as if a criminal that pounded there car and caused the problem. I assure you I change the oil on this car religiously and hoped to pass it down to one of my kids someday if possible. With that said I was floored and as they didn't "have time" to talk to me and said they would call me back (never happened) I chose to call them back and make the appointment. When calling the second time I spoke with the service manager and he was at least polite. Mind you ***Engine not running right*** they told me the best they could do was the 27th of January..... This was literally three weeks away! You want me to drive my brand new car with engine issues for three more weeks maybe doing even more damage because your service department is so far behind they cant even diagnose my car for three weeks? What does that say about your service department and also your brand I ask? I made a personal visit to my salesperson who thought it a tad odd as well. The 27th is the best we can do but we are going to put our best tech on it. You're telling me there are substandard techs there as well? I personally contacted a different dealer (Fox Subaru) and was helped with 5 stars finding out. drumroll. you guessed it ringland failure on cylinder 4. In the car world this means your motor is toast. All being covered under warranty replaced and repaired before Maple Hill would have even glanced or batted an eye at it. If I am lucky enough to have someone at a significant level at Maple Hill read this. Ask around I am sure you can get in touch with me at any time. I'm the man that bought the 2017 STI WRB in July of 2016. I am confident you most likely wont. More

Michigan and into Canada. We got as far as the middle of nowhere in the U.P. and the engine light came on and the power steering pump was squealing. My husband checked the water and the power steering tank…none! The brake fluid was low too! We had some water with us so he topped that off and we were able to drive to the nearest "town". They had somewhat of an auto parts store so we got the fluids we needed plus the engine was a quart and a half low of oil. Called them when we got signal…they acted like it was no big deal! Went round and round with them when we got home, all they could offer us was $50.00 off our next service. Wow…. thanks a lot. We also discovered when we got home that they hadn't even changed the spark plugs! And they stole our wrench for our lug nuts. All this for a mere $650.00. More

I asked if I could make an appointment to have it done and was told no appointments for that kind of service and that I would have to wait or come at another time in hope the wait time was less. I'll be going to Tuffy's from now on where I can schedule an appointment and get the standard services done for 30% of the price charged here. I did talk with the service manager Steve, who didn't really care how much of an inconvenience this was. Told me that was our policy. Why? because that's our policy. Okay, so I won't be going back there again. More
