Marty's GMC responded

Hello- We completely understand and regret your disappointment. The situation regarding the chip shortage has been and continues to be very frustrating. However, I firmly beleive that this situation would exist regardless of which dealership you chose to purchase from. Every dealership is subject to the same shortages. Further, we, like every dealer, can only pass on the information as provided from the manufacturer. AND it is not in the dealer's discretion to put chips in vehicles of their choosing. We are notified when you are notified that chips are on the way. When GM sends the chips for your particular Sierra, they will only work in your Sierra. It truly is a regrettable situation. Because of this type of frustration, many may forget the reason they did business with Marty's. In a time when vehicles were in short supply many dealers choose to charge customers over sticker price for vehicles. Marty's never did that. It is a key reason we are so successful. Lastly, when we are notified that a customer's chips are on the way, we arrange for the customer to be served immediately. Our service department recognizes the importance and is more than willing to extend hours to accommodate those who have been waiting for their chips. Again, we regret that this situation has occurred. When the chips for your truck are sent, we will most certainly coordinate an immediate service visit to have them installed.
