Accommodating and supportive I recently purchased a new 2018 Honda Accord. This is my first new car, and the experience we had at Mohawk Honda was disappointing, but Mohawk Honda I recently purchased a new 2018 Honda Accord. This is my first new car, and the experience we had at Mohawk Honda was disappointing, but Mohawk Honda was accommodating and supportive. First, I had decided on the gray color, and when we initially went to test drive the car, the saleswoman used another color to work the numbers. We went home and looked at other dealers and at other manufacturers. When we agreed upon a final price with Mohawk Honda, the invoice sheet had listed the car as a Silver color. The saleswoman was off on Wednesday, and my husband called to have the gray color set aside, giving another person the specific stock number of the car I saw online that was listed as Gray. This specific stock number/VIN was used when my husband called insurance (pro-actively) to get the car transferred over. On Friday we went to pick up the car, and there were several scratches that we saw on the car that were clearly visible when we walked up to it, which was them buffed out. 24 hours after picking up the car, I went to start the car for the second time off the lot, and the car did not start. Honda Service sent out AAA, and the battery was tested to be good, and then I drove around at night in the rain for 20 miles to charge the battery. During this time the TPMS sensor went off, and the tires were all at ~25-26PSI. At this time I also noticed a scrape in the wheel that I did not notice during the final delivery process. Sunday morning the car did not start again. Looking through the documentation, I noticed that although the car was the color we wanted, it was a DIFFERENT stock number. The only insurance information we had with the car was for the Gray stock number, which was not the VIN of the car we had. On Monday, my husband called Mohawk and had the car jumped again. He brought it in and the Service department replaced the battery. They also filled the tires with more air. It was explained to him that the stock/VIN/color information on the website is completely unreliable, and that the car listed as GRAY is actually BROWN, and the SILVER car we received is indeed the GRAY one. This was taken care of at final delivery, so we did indeed have insurance, but no new insurance card was given to us, and it was not explained what happened at delivery. We also had to pay the DMV surcharge again, unfortunately. I worked with Mohawk Honda to get the wheel fixed. The car was ready the same day, but the Service department called both my and my husband's phone and didn't leave messages. I called back and left a voicemail, but no one got back to us until the next day when the salesperson asked how the car looked, assuming we had picked it up already. Although the sales team did go above and beyond what they normally do, I believe several things could have been better. I understand that parts can fail, but it's concerning that we had the car less than 24 hours and only driven it 3 miles before the first issue happened. In addition, the communication from Mohawk Honda could have been better (wrong stock numbers, missing updated insurance information, no messages). Mohawk Honda proffered a complementary oil change and tire rotation, which does make up for the work that needed to be done, so in the end we are both content with the experience. More

Great experience for rare car buyers! We do not buy new cars very often. In fact, we have kept our Honda Civic Hybrid for almost ten years. We originally bought that car from Mohawk Honda We do not buy new cars very often. In fact, we have kept our Honda Civic Hybrid for almost ten years. We originally bought that car from Mohawk Honda when they were still a small delearship on State St. Now, they are a big congolmerate in East Glenville, but we had such a good experience the first time buying and with bringing the car back for oil changes and such that we thought we'd try again. It was a very pleasureable buying experience again, and we are really happy about that. Go to Mohawk Honda and ask for Alec Wright - he is what made our buying experience so wonderful! He's AWESOME! Mohawk Honda is a good place that cares about its customers and works hard to please!!! More
