I found a car on their lot that I really liked. Albert came out while I was looking at it and offered a test drive. He was very friendly, and even though this car was not a Toyota and he did not know muc came out while I was looking at it and offered a test drive. He was very friendly, and even though this car was not a Toyota and he did not know much about it, he was as helpful as he could have possibly have been. I mentioned that it had a slight pull to the right when driving and he said that they would align it for me. The internet price was lower than the listed price and they offered me an OK value on my trade. I asked them if they could do any better on my trade, and they came up a thousand dollars on it. I went ahead and made the deal. The finance department did their best to sell me an expensive extended warranty, which is part of their job, but I do have to say that he was not overly pushing it on me. When I came back for the alignment, it was done on time, and it is the first alignment that I've ever gotten that I was totally happy with! The car tracked perfectly straight. Based on my experience, I would recommend them again. More
Service department is not trustworthy. A relative brought her car to Oakbrook Toyota (at 90K miles) for a checkup prior to a long-distance trip. Oakbrook Toyota changed the timing belt, even tho brought her car to Oakbrook Toyota (at 90K miles) for a checkup prior to a long-distance trip. Oakbrook Toyota changed the timing belt, even though the belt had already been changed at 60K miles, and the sticker on the engine housing clearly indicated as much (normal timing belt change on this car is every 60K miles). They also said the battery needed replacement, and when told that the battery was still under Toyota warranty, and that the warranty paperwork was in the glove compartment, Oakbrook Toyota took the papers out of the glove compartment and hid them under the passenger seat! Since the papers were "lost," we were unable to make the warranty claim on the battery. Less than 6K miles after this repair, the car's water pump failed. Oakbrook Toyota had not mentioned anything about the water pump, and in this car the timing belt must be changed if the water pump is replaced. Thus to fix the water pump, we would have to pay for ANOTHER timing belt. I also must wonder if Oakbrook Toyota managed to damage the pump during the timing belt change. Brought the car to a more reputable dealer, who told us that it's normal practice on this car to recommend changing the water pump at the same time as the timing belt, to avoid the exact predicament we are facing. Oakbrook Toyota didn't do so, at our expense! More
