We bought a “Certified Used” Kia. During the rainy test drive we could not hear any suspicious noises. On the drive home, once out of the rain, there was a noise with an occasional s During the rainy test drive we could not hear any suspicious noises. On the drive home, once out of the rain, there was a noise with an occasional squeak. Though the tires had acceptable tread depth, they were had uneven wearing and 3 had cupping. They had been placed on the vehicle so the cupping was on the inside and harder to see. All four tires were replaced yet the squeak was still there. Before we could get it into have it looked at the check engine light came on. Upon having that diagnosed we found out it was the transmission. We took it to the dealership immediately and we had to make the follow up calls on the status. Oakes advised there was metal shavings in the transmission. This is something that they either overlooked during their “165 point inspection” before selling, or they simply did not inspect it. We have now been without a vehicle going on 3 weeks with no calls from any management regarding their poor performance as a dealer. Buyer beware. More
