After speaking briefly in a chat with Liz from internet sales, who was very pleasant and helpful, my sister and I made the trip down to Frankfort (a 50 mile trip for us) to what I expected to be a waste of time experience. They were rated very highly - the highest ratings overall from every dealer I looked at - but I'm still pretty wary of dealerships and expected to get a runaround on the special internet price, and to bicker my way through a deal that could most likely fall through. Imagine my surprise a few hours later when I was leaving happy and satisfied with a new car! When I arrived I was met at the door by Peter, who was not only helpful and welcoming but happened to be a writer and educator as well. I test drove the car and was immediately in love with it. When we discussed terms, the price I was given was exactly as it was stated on the internet ad, which was a pleasant surprise. The car I was looking to trade in turned out to be worth much less than I had hoped, which was disheartening as it looked like I might not be able to afford the payments I was estimated, but Peter and the people at Phillips worked with me to get my payments to something I would be able to handle every month. Throughout the entire experience Peter was wonderful to work with — and in between our waiting on new estimates, he discussed his sociology work with us and even gave us a few copies of his books! At no point did I feel pressured, uncomfortable, or mistreated, and when we finally settled on a price and signed the paperwork no one hassled me for extra anything. The whole experience was refreshingly good and I felt extremely well taken care of. I've had my Prius for over a month now and it's been absolutely great; I got my money's worth and then some. I've told all my friends about how good my experience was, and if any of them go car shopping in the future I know where I'll be pointing them! More
