Our experience at Planet Honda was quite disappointing and one of the worst car-buying experiences we’ve had. We arrived hoping for a straightforward process, but were instead met with a complete lack of and one of the worst car-buying experiences we’ve had. We arrived hoping for a straightforward process, but were instead met with a complete lack of transparency and frustrating delays. It started out well enough; we arrived at 1 pm, there was no wait and we met the sales rep quickly and did a test drive. Thats where the positives ended. Wilson handled our purchase, and was dishonest afrom the start. Despite the car being listed on their website for $27,999, with a past accident, he gave an OTD price of over $34,000, which is ridiculous. When we asked for an explanation he claimed that the price on the site included a loyalty discount for having bought there before and without it its and additional $1500~ above the listed price. This is simply false advertising on the company’s part, and I’m thinking of making a complaint about that with the FTC and the state. Then along with a bunch of bogus fees and charges for protection packages and such that we never asked for, in the end the frustration of it all made us agree to a price much higher than it should be, just to have the process over with. Then perhaps the worst part was the wait we had till meeting the finance manager. It was after 6 pm, so almost 5 hours of waiting, and everytime we asked for an update all we got was “he will be here soon”. And at the end of it all when we got in the car to go home it was past 8pm—over 7 frustrating hours to buy a car. It felt like the focus was less on finding a good experience for the customer and more on pressuring us into a deal that felt rushed and confusing. There was a lack of clarity on the pricing and it seemed like every piece of information was being held back througout the sales process. The only positive experience was the finance manager we worked with. Unfortunately don’t remember his name, but he was friendly and explained things clearly; didn’t try to confuse us or pressure us in to anything extra, though his supervisor did try. Once we got home we found that the system still had the previous owner’s profile and was locked; I wasn’t able to add my own or reset it. When I called to get it fixed they said I had to make an appt for next week, despite them selling this car to me with a unusabe infotainment system! These things should have been reset before offering the car for sale. I went back two weeks later for the appt and they still weren’t able to reset the system and were trying to reach the prior owner for a password. What should have been an exciting purchase turned into a stressful, drawn-out ordeal. We left feeling disrespected and entirely let down. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this dealership at all. More
