Made a cash purchase of a new vehicle. Dealer asked for my social security number. When I asked why it was needed, I was advised that it was merely to "verify my employment". I specificall Dealer asked for my social security number. When I asked why it was needed, I was advised that it was merely to "verify my employment". I specifically advised that the dealer was not authorized to make an inquiry on my credit bureau. I was assured, by dealership personnel, that my credit bureau would not be run. The dealership then immediately made a hard inquiry which showed upon my credit report the next day. I would caution anyone who values honesty to be very careful about this dealership. They lied to me even though I took time to address the issue prior to the transaction. More
