Perri, Thank you for taking the time to write your review! I am so sorry that you have had these issues and wanted to point a few things out. It was obvious to both you and your mom that we made a clerical error. We are willing to save the customer a couple of thousand dollars to offset the inconvenience associated with this clerical error. However, we are not prepared to offer $5,000 in savings. Couple important facts to take note of, at Scott Clark we sell almost 20,000 cars annually and perform almost 200,000 services on cars. In light of those numbers, we have an extremely LOW rate of bad reviews. Additionally, and most notably, we have a very minimal number of references made to “bait and switch”. Indeed, were that to be a tactic we employed, we would 1). Have 100’s, perhaps even 1000’s, of reviews of referencing “bait and switch”, 2). Not be selling the most cars of any dealer in the Carolinas because customers would not stand for that type of behavior. Lastly, we have found that in the past, most, but not all, customers that make the “bait and switch” accusation are doing so for the express purpose of trying to take advantage of a very minor human clerical error. They think that they can weaponize the accusation and get whatever they feel to be fair. In any case, we don’t use “bait and switch” as a tactic, but one of our 650 human beings do mess up every once in a while, and when they do, we rely on the customer to accept reasonable accommodations.
