This is a review for sales and customer service, not for the Service department, which I will never go to because Sales/Finance has left a bad taste in the mouth. The person, who takes calls at the main the Service department, which I will never go to because Sales/Finance has left a bad taste in the mouth. The person, who takes calls at the main line, is completely useless. She transfers you to a phone that doesn't get picked up and has a full voicemail box, or she transfers you to the Service department, who has a very polite person on the other end and that person says they can't help you with their situation. I bought a plug-in hybrid Ioniq in January 2021. The dealership sold it as "new" and some of the paperwork says it is new, but the registration says it's "used." When I brought this up to the sales staff, Diego Bonilla and the salesperson Juan Santoro, they assured me that it's new. It had been used as a demonstration vehicle. I wanted to get a rebate for the vehicle and they assured me that it would qualify for the rebate. Well, now that I have applied for the rebate, the government is denying my application and they need a statement from the dealer (South Bay Hyundai) saying that the vehicle was a demo vehicle. The government gives 10 days to respond, and I contacted South Bay Hyundai immediately by phone and email, and I haven't received a response. The receptionist supposedly took down my message, but I got no call back. I sent an email to everyone I could in the dealership including the gents mentioned above and got no response. Something like this is so simple to fix, but because they already took my money, it seems like they don't care. So, I was lied to and I've had some crappy customer service. In respect to buying the vehicle, the process was OK, but like others mention, it's a BS process. You MUST come in with a loan offer in order for them to negotiate down. I was so grateful that I walked in the door with a loan offer from my credit union, because I would have been cheated if I hadn't. The negotiation process was long and annoying; they make you wait in the sales floor for much longer than necessary. They're hoping you'll get impatient and crack. Don't fall for that. Don't get the extended warranty, don't get any extra stuff; it's just throwing money away. While I was waiting for a counter-offer, a customer came in and complained that the service they wanted on their car should have been covered, but the dealership was charging them extra. So, that tells me the extended warranty is BS. Don't buy a car from here. Or, if you do, don't take the first, second, or third offer. And bring some water and snacks so you don't get wait-weary. More

It was a pleasure working with Richard Andersen. As a matter of fact, it was nice dealing with the whole staff. My wife and I were in and out of there with a new car in about 2 hours.
