Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

Good experience. I had previous interaction with the service dept. They were friendly, helpful, and engaging. My purchase experience was good. My salesperson was not experienced, which would have been more helpful in understanding the 2500- Ram I purchased. Salesman Melvin was an awesome salesman’s. Made my deal happen and was very perfessional. He even went out of his way to come help me after hours because I had my rims swapped to my new truck and the servi happen and was very perfessional.
