On July 10,2021, I made a 5 hour round trip from MA down to Stamford, CT for a good deal I found on a 2018 Hyundai Tuscon at Stamford Hyundai. After a test drive, I agreed to purchase the vehicle from sales to Stamford, CT for a good deal I found on a 2018 Hyundai Tuscon at Stamford Hyundai. After a test drive, I agreed to purchase the vehicle from salesman Danson. Danson told me that they would register the vehicle for me that week and that in 1 week, I could give my down payment and drive the vehicle home. The morning I was supposed to drive it home, Danson called me and told me they would not register the vehicle until I gave my down payment. I drove 5 hour round trip back down there and gave them an $11,000 check for my down payment. The dealership cashed my check a couple days later. After taking my money, they would not register or give me my vehicle. I was only either given excuses for why I was not getting my vehicle or was completely ignored for weeks. Finally after weeks of being patient and dealing with their lies, I gave up and demanded a refund which I had been offered by sales manager Sonny. They then tried to backtrack and tell me I could not get my money back until I threatened them with an attorney. Finally, they agreed to give me my money back and assured me that a check had been cut and mailed to me. It has now been 3 weeks since they cashed my check and over a week since they allegedly mailed my refund and I have still not received my $11,000. It's gotten to the point where I have contacted a private attorney and Hyundai corporate, as well as filed a report with the CT Attorney General. Stamford Hyundai simply took my money with no vehicle to show for it. More
