2003 VW Beetle Convertible, experiencing the transmission problem associated with the valve body. I had read online about horror stories working with dealerships who wouldn't acknowledge the problem but Bobb problem associated with the valve body. I had read online about horror stories working with dealerships who wouldn't acknowledge the problem but Bobby at Stohlman told me it was covered and would be no problem. I also had the oil changed. Picked up the car, nice day so I go to put the windows down and GRIND GRIND GRIND the driver's side window doesn't go down. This model has a problem with the windows in the doors and I'm always gentle with it, apparently whoever was in my car while it was at the dealership was not. So I go back inside and explain. The manager Joe Lishman tells me there's no way they could have damaged the window regulator mechanism but that since this model has trouble he'd be willing to install it for free if I buy the part. Well, with this model if you open or close the door you're running the risk of damaging the window but fine, let's do that. Come back again to pick up the car, the window is not working properly. The one touch feature isn't working, and the window doesn't go up and down as you enter and exit the car (the anti-pinch feature for the convertible roof). Bobby says it looks like the switch so I have to come back a third time. Now Bobby tells me it's not the switch, it's the motor, and the problem is internal to the motor so they could not have caused it. The window was working fine before I brought it in the first time, the switch was working fine before the regulator was replaced, and now I've got a motor issue. Something new just happens to break every time I bring it back to get fixed for a problem caused by the dealership in the first place. Thanks for making my car worse. More
My car-buying experience at Stohlman Automotive was nothing but pleasant. As a first-time car-buyer, I greatly appreciated that I was treated with much patience by both Mr. Sam and Mr. Prince. nothing but pleasant. I had a great experience buying a pre-owned Subaru Forester at this place. They gave me a good deal. Nora was really helpful and answered all our questions. Overall my experience at Stohlman Automotive was great and I would recommend them to my friends. They happened to have the exact used car I was looking for (not a common car) so I emailed them. Brett repl and I would recommend them to my friends. They happened to have the exact used car I was looking for (not a common car) so I emailed them. Brett replied promptly answering my questions. I went in on a Friday to see the car and liked it enough that I wanted my wife to see it. Pierre in used car sales told me to just take it home for the weekend. It was so nice to be able to drive it for a couple of days. I came back on Monday and bought it, but even if I had decided against buying it I feel like there would have been no pressure. That was what made it a great experience, no hard selling. The price they offered was fair and the price they offered on my trade-in hit my absolute minimum (I of course would have liked more, but who doesn't). Brett and Pierre made each step of the buying experience easy. The only real complaint I have is that it was a long process. We spent hours in the dealership waiting for each next step and then when we returned a few days later to pick up the title we had to wait for another extended period of time despite the fact I had called ahead to let them know we would we were coming. This last annoyance made me almost knock the customer service score down to a 4, but since neither Brett nor Pierre were involved with this final process and they were the people I worked with the most I decided to keep it at 5. Nothing but the highest recommendation for Stohlman VW, where I picked up a new 2012 Passat. From the initial email communications with Joshua Jay, to the sales experience with Erik Nyhuis, and the paperw where I picked up a new 2012 Passat. From the initial email communications with Joshua Jay, to the sales experience with Erik Nyhuis, and the paperwork/finances with Scott Chapman - I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience. A great selection of cars, and an excellent price with no haggling whatsoever - a very pleasant environment. If I enjoy the car as much as I enjoyed the buying experience, they've earned a customer for life. Many thanks. More
I drove from NC to Northern Virginia to buy from them after they had what I wanted in stock that my local dealer was unable to get. I also saved over $1300 on the price my local dealer quoted me for the after they had what I wanted in stock that my local dealer was unable to get. I also saved over $1300 on the price my local dealer quoted me for the same vehicle! Very pleased with the low 0.9 fiancing as well. Nothing but an exceptional experience More

We bought an Outback from Joe for my wife. We looked at just about every single make and model you could think of. Joe was very knowledgeable and gave us many reasons why we should choose the Outback with just about every single make and model you could think of. Joe was very knowledgeable and gave us many reasons why we should choose the Outback without being pushy in any way. He didn't hold us hostage, but rather just seemed concerned with answering all of our questions. It took us a few weeks to decide what we were going to go with, and Joe was happy to continue answering all of our questions by phone. When we asked for a rate, Joe gave us a rate. When we asked for a price, Joe gave us a price. Almost every other car salesman I have ever dealt with has given me the run around, you have to come into the dealer, and what can I do today. I have never gotten the honest genuine service that Joe provided us with before, and I have bought plenty of cars. I've never owned a Subaru myself (wife loves them), but I'm almost inclined to purchase a Subaru for my next car just so I can deal with Joe again. I can't remember the name of the gentleman who did our paperwork, but he was also very low pressure and pleasant to work with. I will be recommending Stohlman to anyone I know in need of a new car. We spent weeks car shopping and negotiating with salesmen who were rude, stubborn, and seemingly disinterested in closing sales, but Iman at Stohlman was a completely different story. We'd done so much resea who were rude, stubborn, and seemingly disinterested in closing sales, but Iman at Stohlman was a completely different story. We'd done so much research we had essentially no questions about the car and knew it was the one we wanted if we could get a price that worked. Iman respected this and took our offer seriously; he kept everything quick and simple, didn't try to sell anything more to us, and didn't bother with confusing salesman bravado like the four square chart or feigning disgust at our offers. Likewise, Hue prepared the paperwork quickly and didn't push any additional warranties or unnecessary charges. By the end of the afternoon, we left with the car we wanted having paid a price we liked, and felt very comfortable with the experience. Thanks, Stohlman. More
I arrived for my scheduled Saturday morning appointment for my Mitsubishi (that I purchased at this Stohlman location) at the service center. My car was taken back and when I arrived at the counter, they c for my Mitsubishi (that I purchased at this Stohlman location) at the service center. My car was taken back and when I arrived at the counter, they could not find my appointment. Apparently, Stohlman stopped selling/servicing Mitsubishi cars. I was never informed of this when a) making my appointment or b) in the 2 weeks between making the appointment and arriving to the dealership 30 minutes away from my home. I feel that when I made the appointment through Jill, she should have known that Stohlman was in the process of closing down their showroom and service department as I made my appointment a mere two weeks before its closing. At the very least, I would have appreciated an email, phone call or letter from Stohlman cancelling my appointment. This would have saved me the gas money and the time from traveling on I-66 on a holiday weekend to make it to my appointment on time. Overall, I am very disappointed about how Stohlman Automotive handled this situation. More
