My husband and I received an offer through TrueCar by email for a 2021 Subaru forester premium. The offer price was 29 263.85 Due at Signing. We received the offer on 12/25/2022. My husband called the dealership at 9 AM the next day, December 26th and spoke with Breezy Foster who confirmed the car was still available and that she was able to find the TrueCar Deal Code. Breezy was told that it would take us about 2 and 1/2 hours to drive to Port Richey from our home near Orlando. When we arrived we were introduced to our salesman Tony Croxton. After test driving the vehicle we told ,Tony, that we wanted to buy the car and would be paying cash. I told Tony, when we first met him, that we had received an offer through TrueCar. We were taken to an office and waited while Tony drew up the contact. We received a price for more than two thousand dollar higher than the TrueCar Offer. When I asked him why the price was so much higher, he told us that their dealership adds on additional fees and they have been having issues with TrueCar not including these additional fees. I showed Tony the dealer fees which were itemized in the offer and he said they were not nearly enough. After almost an hour of game play where Tony brought in different offers and taking counteroffers back to the sales manager (shades of the 60s and 70s) we agreed on a price for more than a thousand dollars higher than expected. I would caution customers to be aware of what, to me, seems to be a bait and switch and blame it on someone else scheme. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, and I will not go back. More
