Update: This review was posted in July 2025. Subaru of Puyallup cold-texted me in November 2025 as though they had no knowledge of our prior experience. Very unprofessional. Predatory dealer Subaru of Puyallup cold-texted me in November 2025 as though they had no knowledge of our prior experience. Very unprofessional. Predatory dealership. Our experience has been extremely unsatisfactory. After receiving dozens of rejection letters in the mail from a variety of credit unions and banks, and taking a huge hit on our credit score (which was in the 700's prior to this) - it turns out that Subaru of Puyallup ran our credit for everything from $20,000 to $35,000. We have limited credit history and would have absolutely never agreed to a $35,000 loan, as we already know we would have never been approved for it, and had already explicitly laid out our monthly payment maximum multiple times. The representative assigned to our case, NOLAN, seemed to understand our financial limitations, but I think he was just trying to make a sale. After two weeks of silence from our end, we received a random text from Nolan again in sales on Saturday, July 26 - the text simply read, "How fast can you come up with $500?" with no additional context, or even a greeting. We asked for more information and expressed our desire to stay below $10,000 on a used vehicle - a plan that had already been recommended to us by Nolan himself. Nolan responded that we should be looking for vehicles in a much higher range due to our negative equity from a prior loan and the bank's willingness to loan more on vehicles with more value. That may be true, but we feel as though nobody actually listened to our concerns or limitations, and that they just wanted to make as large of a sale as possible. It was also made clear to us at the time of test-driving that they generally do not even carry vehicles in the range of $10,000, at which point it should have been understood by all parties (it certainly was understood by us, as well as by Nolan!) that they had nothing to offer. To text a potential client, "How fast can you come up with $500?" a whole two weeks after the last contact, is absurd. Do better, Subaru of Puyallup. We will not be recommending you to anyone. Fast forward three months later, to NOVEMBER 2025: Mia from Subaru of Puyallup texted me this morning to ask if I was interested in a new 2022 Outback that just came in. Why was my contact information not removed from your system after I left this one-star review over the summer? I called and spoke with a girl who claimed not to be Mia, and who sheepishly indicated that maybe the text came from another dealership, which is patently untrue, as the text literally says, "Mia here from Subaru of Puyallup!" I then spoke with a male member of the finance department to formally request that my information be removed from the system. The man on the phone was obviously annoyed with having to take my call (Aww, somebody has to do the bare minimum part of his job!) and he could not have made it any more clear that he did not actually care about my concerns. He was about as insincere as someone could be. I will do my best to pass this bummer experience along to anyone who may be interested in buying from a Harnish dealership in the future, so they can avoid Harnish entirely and search for a more credible and less predatory dealership. Our experience buying a new Subaru Outback at Subaru of Puyallup was EXCELLENT! I have no complaints whatsoever! The price quoted over the phone was thousands of dollars lower than anything I'd seen after weeks of shopping for a new Subaru!! A big surprise that motivated us to go to Puyallup that afternoon! Upon arrival, we were immediately introduced to Ms. Cage and then to the sales representative, Ryan Gifford, with whom we'd be doing our test drives and, as it turned out, helping us throughout the purchase process. With Ryan, the process of test drives, learning about the cars we drove and their features and subtleties, and finally the purchasing process was definitely stress-free, super helpful and informative, definitely no-pressure or gimmicks, (dare I say it:) fun!, and most-decidedly stress-free!! In all my 50 years of purchasing automobiles, this was that absolute best buying experience of them all!! (without doubt!). After easy and thorough discussions with Ryan, we went for the car security system but decided to shop-around an extended warranty - all without pressure or hard-sell. Ryan gave us the information and then stepped away and let us make our very own decision. Easy! We were lucky to not require financing so that part of the equation was also very easy - even still, the finance representative, Wade Finley, was very helpful and easy to work with regarding the acceptance of our check and the ease with which we moved through that process. Before leaving the dealership, we spent more time with Ryan Gifford during which he carefully covered more details about the operation of the car and its features. We felt this time was very well spent because Ryan's excellent discussions and tutorials really gave us an excellent start to knowing this vehicle and getting the most from its advanced driver assistance systems. Check. Want to test drive a specific vehicle on the showroom floor and be told, "No problem, we'll have it ready for you when you return in the afternoon," and then return in the afternoon to see it sitting in the same spot on the showroom floor? Check. Stress-free, LOL. Avoid. More
I was impresses by there helpfulness and willingness to see that I was satisfied with my purchase. The model I bought did not come with a spare tire. They ordered a spare for me and installed it. I scheduled an added coating on a day I had to work. They lent one of their cars to so I could get to work. They gave me a ride home another time (very accommodating). They give a tutorial on their cars by a very knowledgeable employee (I drive a 2004 truck). I was given a good deal. They also give you three years free Road Side service More

We had a great no pressure experience with Diego after being referred by a family member who had recently purchased through Raul. I just purchased over $1100. 00 for new tires and an alignment on my grandsons 2024 cross trek. After picking it up from Puyallup Subaru, not even a mile away the tire light came 00 for new tires and an alignment on my grandsons 2024 cross trek. After picking it up from Puyallup Subaru, not even a mile away the tire light came on. Pulled into Les Schwab only to find out the right front tire had less than 10lbs of air in it. I’m very disappointed/angry that this could even happen. Hopefully the rim isn’t damaged? More
