I have been a loyal customer of Sun Toyota for over 20 years. I always receive great service. My most recent experience was with Mark Arvay who was extremely patient, efficient and kind. Stay away from this dealership at all costs. Walked into the dealership at 7:20pm, and didn’t leave till 11:30pm. It shouldn’t take four hours to buy a used car. I just picked up a used Tesla directly from Tesla, and driving from Orlando to Jacksonville, picking up the car, and driving home took less time,, financing was done on my phone in ten minutes, and I didn’t need to talk to a single human. Dealers wonder why people hate them. Joe was wonderful as a relationship manager, but that’s where the good part ends, and the “typical shady dealership” begins. First, they tried to slap a $3800 “Advantage” plan that was most definitely not advertised on the website for the used car. This provided nothing of value that a normal consumer can’t get done for less than $200 total. Next, they play the financing games, due to some medical debt, I have challenging credit,, however, we make over six figures a year, currently have car payments in excess of $1400 a month, and I only picked up a 2018 BMW. The sales manager says “Oh yeah,, we have no problem approving you,, we have a pending from Ally, but it won’t be a problem”. We get to finance, and they spot the deal,, make us sign paperwork, almost make me sign for an extended warranty for zero reason, and then tell me they’d follow up today. We received no copies of anything we signed, the temp plate is handwritten like it was provided by a shady used car buy here/pay here dealer,, and of course we hear nothing back today. Nor do I even have a printed registration for the car either. Nobody had business cards like every other normal dealer would, and trying to get ahold of anyone is next to impossible. I have approvals for other vehicles from CarMax, and only went here because it saved me four hours from picking up a car in West Palm. In Hindsight, I should have just took a field trip and bought the car down there. We are now going on business day #2 tomorrow after they “spotted” us the car, and haven’t heard anything. At this point, I’m ready to just drop it off to them, continue to blast them on every review site, and never step foot in Holiday Florida again. This dealership so far, has been everything people absolutely despise about car dealers, plus some. Stay far away. More
Be aware. Misled about pricing, costing me an extra $750 after the fact. I went to purchase a new Rav4 Hybrid with cash in hand. Salesperson Carlos said he Misled about pricing, costing me an extra $750 after the fact. I went to purchase a new Rav4 Hybrid with cash in hand. Salesperson Carlos said he could only give me a better deal if I took a loan, as the dealership was getting a kick-back from the bank for sending them a client. He as well as the finance manager said there was no prepayment penalties, I could pay the loan off in almost full, and then leave two small payments as the dealership will only get a kick-back if I hold the loan for 3 months. They both have reassured me that it will cost me max of $100 but in turn I am receiving a huge discount on the car. I received the loan from World Omni Financial (with 800+ credit score - they steered me into a higher interest rate assuming they get a better kickback). I went to pay my loan off and was charged an early payoff fee in additional to 9.59% interest rate. There was also an additional fee off $150 they charged for writing up the loan. In total, I am out of $750. Being dishonest and misleading just to get the sale does not deserve any of my future business. I will also file a report with FTC for bad business practice and steering me into a loan so they can get a kick-back from the lender. More
