We would like to thank you for visiting Toyota of Des Moines dealerrater.com site. When we opened the doors of Toyota of Des Moines many years ago, we developed two simple philosophies for our long-term success: #1: Treat every single person who walks through our doors the same way we would expect to be treated. #2: Once someone has become our customer, he or she is our customer for life. It's a spirit you'll see in everything we do here. One visit to Toyota of Des Moines and you will see what sets us apart from any other dealership. If you live in the state of Iowa, you deserve to let Toyota of Des Moines show you why Iowans buy their cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles here. We are located in Grimes, Iowa, just off Interstate 35/80 at the Highway 141 exit. No other dealer in the State sells more new and used retail vehicles than Toyota of Des Moines, this includes Ford, GM, Dodge, Nissan and Honda Dealers**. In the Polk County our total new monthly sales exceed what the combined sales of new Hondas and Nissan vehicles month after month**. Winner of the President's Cabinet Award for the past 4 years, this means we are one of the Top 12 Toyota Dealers in the Nation ! This is not an easy accomplishment considering that there are over 1200 dealers in the US alone. That's ranking in the top 1% ! You would have to travel hundreds of miles before you would find another dealer of this caliber.

Toyota of Des Moines participates in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we may have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at their dealership. As I understand the issue, we tried to fix your problem as inexpensively as possible before telling you it was going to be several thousand dollars to fix it, for this we are sorry the lesser cost fix did not solve the problem. Secondly the program that you are referring to was the Tacoma frame buyback program I would guess, but being unsure of the exact date you requested to get your trade in back, I cannot guarantee that the truck had not been taken to auction already and sold or that the program was even in effect. The program had no provisions for trading the vehicle just for turning the vehicle in for scrap and receiving a flat amount of money for it. Since to the best of our knowledge the vehicle was gone from our control on the date you requested to remove it from the deal, and all the paperwork was complete, there was no going back. Again, were sorry that we have lost the privilege to get you into another Toyota product in the future, but it was out of our control. Please call and ask for Customer Relations if there is something we can do and remember that you can edit or add to your comments at any time by clicking “Edit” next to your review.

Ha you say you took the least expensive option to make a fix but like I said there was nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. When I got off the interstate I grabbed the front tires and gave them a good shake and me being a big guy if the wheel bearing was "ready to throw a tire" like the service guys said then there should have been some play in the front end or even made a clunking noise. Did I mention I had some brake, shock and tie rod work done before I left for the trip so everything was tight. So like I suspect the mechanics took my word for thinking the noises came from the front and didnt even check the rear axle where the major problem was staring them in the face. To top it off I had major repair work done to the rear axle by Toyota of Hyannis about 5 months before and apparently it was shoddy worksmanship to last under 5 thousand miles. Next you say that the vehicle was already out of your control, I had yet to send the title to you so how is it possible that the vehicle was already sold without the transfer? IT WAS THE NEXT DAY I ASKED TO KEEP MY OLD TRUCK, LIKE 18 HOURS LATER. Once again Toyota of Des Moines is making no sense and making things up. If you had wanted to you could have easily gotten the truck returned. Then weeks later the sales guy was nice enough to tell me that "well we didnt make any money when we sold it". So why did you not sell it back to me???? I STILL HAD THE TITLE AT THAT POINT IN TIME. Toyota Corporate offices told me that if I could get a written statement from Steve Johnson that the truck was rusted to a dangerous condition, LIKE HE TOLD ME IT WAS WHEN I TRADED IT IN, which is the argument he gave me for giving me such a low trade in value, then I would be reimbursed through the frame perforation recall. But neither Steve nor anybody else I spoke to in sales would honor my request and I STILL WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY NOT???
