I had the pleasure of working with Elle at Toyota of Smithfield. This is my second vehicle purchase from her, and it wont be my last. I keep upgrading my vehicles with her little by little. I went from Smithfield. This is my second vehicle purchase from her, and it wont be my last. I keep upgrading my vehicles with her little by little. I went from a 99 Jaguar to Rav4 with Elle, and now a brand new Tacoma! My dream is a candy apple red Tundra, and I plan to purchase that with Elle in about a years time! More

Honestly, stay as far away from these sneaky scam artists as possible. They will tell you one thing over the phone and completely change the story once they get you in the building. Had them order me a Tacom as possible. They will tell you one thing over the phone and completely change the story once they get you in the building. Had them order me a Tacoma SR as they didn’t have it in stock at the time. Told them exactly what I wanted, just basic stock Tacoma with a V6 and 4WD. I waited 3 months and then went in and they had ordered it with extra packages I didn’t want to jack up the price. They also ordered a 4cyl instead of the V6. I told them that’s not what I wanted and they said well I can wait again for another one to come in or take that one. I was going to leave and of course they magically found one very similar to what I wanted that they had in stock. Ran through the paperwork and of course the price changed drastically once I was in the building. I ended up taking the Tacoma, however afterwards I noticed that they snuck over $2000 worth of add ons into the contract that they did not ask me if I wanted or tell me about. They also completely lowballed me on my trade in. The manager sat there and completely lied to my face and told me anything he could to get me to agree to take the truck. Since then, it has been nothing but a horrible experience. They have been rude, they never called me to let me know my plates are in, and they’ve harassed me about dropping the truck off to get an extra service done that I didn’t want and they snuck into the contract. Going to this dealership was a horrible decision and wish I went anywhere else as I have never had this bad of an experience at any of the other many dealerships I have purchased a vehicle at. Stay far away from these sneaky scam artists. More

A mixed bag. Rafael, the salesman, was great. I found him to be personable and reliable and he was great communicating what was going on. And although, I didn' Rafael, the salesman, was great. I found him to be personable and reliable and he was great communicating what was going on. And although, I didn't get the exact car I wanted, they were upfront that they couldn't guarantee it with the on going chip shortage and whatnot. So it wasn't and isn't a huge deal that I didn't get exactly what I wanted, what I got was close enough. The rest of the people I met with, were less stellar. After meeting with Rafael I was brought to the insurance area and Taylor, who was personable, but I was pressured into bumping up my coverage needlessly, despite saying 'No thanks' multiple times. Finally, to keep the ball rolling I just said, 'Yes' just to keep the ball rolling, knowing I could and was going to just take it back down when I home. They also messed up my policy, by opening a 2nd one, when the car could've just been added on to my existing policy, and this is coming from Progressive when I spoke to them. I have the app right on my phone, I could've just added the car myself and didn't need them to do anything. After finishing with her I had to meet with Kassidy, to again, decline any add-ons. I get the commission and up selling aspects of the business, but I already declined all this when I met with Rafael, we could've saved us both the time, by honoring my wishes the first time I said 'No thanks' to the add-ons. She was personable, and I can't say anything bad about her, but again having my time wasted isn't something I'm fond of. I finally meet with the finance manager, Nicole who was very abrasive and off-putting, because I declined the any extended warranty coverage. Based on all my research, my lawyers advice, and advice from family that sold cars, extended warranties are not worth it 90%+ of the time. Therefore, I declined, and was upfront from the beginning, not wanting to waste either of our times. This still didn't stop her from still trying to sell it and trying to force it on me. Even later rolling her eyes and saying "I can't believe you don't want any extended warranty" as she was finalizing the paperwork. It literally got to the point where I was taking my phone out to call my ride to come back and get me because I was ready to back out of the deal completely. Again, I get the commission aspect, but 'no means no' and you would think women would be even more respectful of that. So overall, a mixed bag. We'll see how the service department goes when I do an oil change in a few months. More
They quoted me on a price then added $3000 on after the quoted price for special paint and undercoating. I would not do business with them again. quoted price for special paint and undercoating. I would not do business with them again. More
The Toyota of Smithfield Dealership is the worst dealership to purchase, for maintenance, or to say the truth about what is needed for repairs. I spend hours there for a battery. Others in the waiti dealership to purchase, for maintenance, or to say the truth about what is needed for repairs. I spend hours there for a battery. Others in the waiting area all say the the same thing. Whrn I was waiting, there was a woman was there for an inspection, and was told she needed a light bulb and it would cost her $49.95 not to mention the cost of the inspection. They find something wrong all the time without fail. There was a time I never signed for work they charged me $636.50! It was for an oil change.i refused to pay and they did not release me car. I told them to show where my signature was, the service manager could not find one. And they had to eat the cost for their stupidity. I would warn anyone to not use this dealership because they are a dishonest dealership who is out to get every chance to make a dollar, and they have no remorse for doing so. The elder and trusting customers are just taken advantage if over and over. Sit and wait in the waiting room and listen to the disgruntled customers and what they have to say BEFORE having any service done. BEWARE! More

I was genuine enough to mentioned that I went to a tinted glass workshop to remove the tint and they kept the engine running. That should not be the reason for the battery to drain as the engine was running. Toyota Smithfield used my statement against me to deny me of manufacturing warranty for the battery and charged me 180+ dollars as diagnostic charge. I just paid 180 dollars to visit Smithfield Toyota. I do not recommend them for any repair. Afterwards, I took my car to Greico Toyota. They not only tested the battery, but also tested the battery connections and returned the car with a free car wash. They told me that they will never charge a customer for such things such as checking the battery. Toyota Smithfield only cares about how much they could grab from the customer. I will never recommend them to anybody I know.(As a side note, we bought two cars from them). More
