So here’s my story. Bought this car and loved it except for the transmission that shifted strange. It took me 3 years of complaining but they finally put their “transmis Bought this car and loved it except for the transmission that shifted strange. It took me 3 years of complaining but they finally put their “transmission expert” on the job and determined it needed to be replaced. Yay! The replacement was perfect, until I started hearing a whining like a bad wheel bearing on the drivers side front. I took it to the dealership and they said it wasn’t a wheel bearing but a bad transmission. So they replaced it again. This transmission shifts worse than the first one. It drops in and out of gear while in traffic, shifts rough at low speeds and also has a slight whine on the passenger side this time. I took it back to the dealership and explained the issues. They sent be the usual email with all the problems listed with the car, two of which I can prove weren’t actually checked, and when I denied all of the services they called me the next day and said my car was ready-no charge. When I started asking questions about specific problems, their guy, James, started giving answers that didn’t make sense and getting rude. I’ve had three transmissions in this car-two were bad and one was good. So I have something to compare to. I own a 2013 Elantra that shifts great. So I have something to compare it to. If I came to buy a new or used Elantra and it shifted like this, I would get out and go buy another brand. I know I’m only one customer, and I have a Hyundai and not a Genesis, and in the big scheme I don’t mean crap to them, but they have lost me as one of THEIR customers. I don’t think I’ll buy another Hyundai again because of this, but if I do, you can bet I’ll go to another dealership. More
