Ashley Hernandez saved the day! I purchased a 2013 Toyota Tundra from Vernon Auto Group. Initial dealings were great, but when the truck was delivered, the courier only had one key. I purchased a 2013 Toyota Tundra from Vernon Auto Group. Initial dealings were great, but when the truck was delivered, the courier only had one key. I was contacted the day after my truck was delivered asking how the truck was. I told them all was great except the one key. The sales rep, Mark Dunson, told me he would check into it and call me back. I waited 2 days with no contact. I called Mark to see what he had found, he told me he had tried to call me but calls were not answered and voice mail was not working. I told him that was unusual, because I had been getting voice mail the prior two days. I then asked him if he had texted me or emailed me, these two options had been used when we were working on getting the deal put together. He said no. As a matter of fact, he had sent me an email asking me to review my experience on Yelp, Dealer Rater, Facebook, Cars.com, and Edmonds because he is required to get 35% of his customers to review so he can get paid. He then told me it was company "Policy" that the used vehicles are sold how they get them and since they are not a Toyota dealer, he can't get another key. I told him I was pretty disappointed because I had paid $36,000 for a two year old truck with one key, the only problem I had with the other wise good transaction. He told me he understood and that he would personally pay for the key himself. I told him I didn't expect that, and that I didn't want to spend anymore time talking about what he could not do for me to remedy the key issue. He said he was sorry and best wishes. I got married 2 days after this all happened, so I was busy with wedding and honeymoon for a week after. After the honeymoon, I got to thinking that I needed a key incase I lock the keys in the truck or lost the one I had, so I had a key made, key only for $108.25. I also thought I would give Mark a chance to rectify the problem, so I sent him a picture of the key and receipt. His response verbatim was, "Well we tried to take care of this last month but you decided t o hang up on me. If you would've done something last month I could've got it done through the dealership. But with it being a new month I can't get it passed by management. I'm sorry Danny." Two lies from the same person! Like I said, the transaction was great except for the $108.23 issue with the key. I even told him I didn't need a fob, another $115, because all I wanted was to have access incase the one key was lost. He even told me his father is the Sales Manager and he would talk to him when he got home that night the first time we discussed the key. More
