I recently visited the Volkswagen dealership of Chicago and had an extremely disappointing encounter with sales manager, Julian. From the moment I interacted with him, his rude and dismissive attitude was and had an extremely disappointing encounter with sales manager, Julian. From the moment I interacted with him, his rude and dismissive attitude was evident. His tone throughout our conversation was unprofessional, condescending, and left me feeling completely disregarded. I had a few important questions regarding a potential purchase, and Julian’s behavior made it clear he had no interest in assisting me. He barely acknowledged my concerns and acted as though my inquiries were an inconvenience to him. His dismissiveness and lack of basic customer service skills are unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on quality. Before coming out to this dealership I told them on the phone I had no ride and was planning on walking out with a car if they honored their promotion. They said if you come right now we will pay for your Uber. I booked a $80 uber and when I was pressured into putting 6,000 down on a 17k car msrp for a lease with a mileage allowance of 10k miles a year. I immediately felt taken advantage of and told them I will not be moving forward and to honor your word and cover my Uber on the way here and call me one on the way back. Julian, sales manager of vw of downtown Chicago’s response was, “I’m not paying for your Uber, why would I do that when you didn’t buy a car from me.” Not only was his customer service and attitude disgusting and unprofessional, he is not a man of his word and made me regret the day I walked into this dealership. I will never recommend anyone to go to this dealership just for them employing an employee like this man and they will never get a dollar from me moving forward. I expect much better from a reputable company like Volkswagen. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I sincerely hope this is addressed to prevent future customers from enduring such poor service. I urge management to take immediate action to ensure this kind of behavior is corrected. More

Fred has done a great job stepping in as service manager. I’ve been going there for about 15 years and seen a few changes of the guard, and I am very impressed with the way he handled my issue. I moved a lot farther away, but service like theirs, including Mike B the shop foreman, makes me feel confident in the choice to make the journey. I needed keys programmed for my beetle and they were very prompt in doing it. Space is nice but I didn't see anywhere to get coffee.
