I live in North Carolina and recently purchased a 2013 Ford Escape locally. Shortly thereafter I went to Florida on an extended vacation. The second week I was there my dealership in NC contacted me reg Ford Escape locally. Shortly thereafter I went to Florida on an extended vacation. The second week I was there my dealership in NC contacted me regarding a recall of my car. I was told to drive it to the closest Ford Dealer and drop it off. I thought about it for a few minutes and remembered a friend who had done business with Walker Ford in years past, so decided to call them. Vince Romano told me to come on down and he would take care of my car. I was welcomed and immediately advised that I would be given a rental at Ford's expense, and they even helped me unload my belongings (as I was traveling) into the rental. Mike Olsen and Vince assured me that they would advise me when my car was ready and kept in touch over the next ten days while my car was there. When they called to tell me my car was ready, I returned to the dealership to pick it up. My car had been washed, filled with gas and was waiting for me. They also filled the rental car with gas before returning it to Hertz. They knew I was from out of state and probably would never do any business with them again, but still went out of their way to take good care of me during this time. Frankly, I just might become a customer, because of how nice I was treated during this time. Also, their prices are better than where I live in North Carolina. ha. I would highly recommend Walker Ford to anyone who wants to be treated fairly, and helped in every way possible to make a difficult situation as comfortable as possibe. Mr. Frank Walker and Mr. Weston Walker, I thank you for having such caring and informed individuals working for your dealership. Belive me, I have told many persons about your dealership and how well I was treated there on my travels throughout Florida and Alabama. When I got back to North Carolina this week, I immediately stopped by my local Ford dealership to inform them of how nicely I was treated in Florida by Walker Ford. What a great experience! This was possibly the best car buying experience we have been involved in and my cousin is one of the best Ford Sales Reps I have known. We went in to work things out with Harry and I left his office with a smile on face. It was because of how he worked things out for us, but also for just spending time with him. He was a pleasure to work with. Denise came into see us and went through her program and again was pleasent, friendly, helpful, and we had no doubt her program was a good one. After purchasing cars for 40 + years ....this was the best experience yet. I had "met" Jim on-line even at that point there was the "no pressure" attitude. We were promptly met and then the process began. I had explained to Jim that 2 dealers in the Bradenton/Sarasota area had been extremely rude. The sales man at those dealerships would not even take a look at our trade. I had spent considerable time both places looking at cars and they just could not be "bothered" by appraising our trade. We left and became agitated at the attitude! It seemed we were just not "serious buyers" to them. We wanted to purchase, but it seemed that some dealers just didn't care. After laying out "our agenda" with Jim the process then began. #1) Tell me what my trade-in was worth and that criteria determined how much we could spend. I told Jim (Walker Ford) had "one shot" and all we were looking for was a fair trade in value and a fair price for a new vehicle. (Walker Ford) Jim did a great job fulfilling . We live in Parrish and figured if a poor trade in value came our way.... we would just call it a day and have lunch in Clearwater. The trade in value was excellent! The new car selection was great! We ultimately found our new car! The "No Hassle" approach from all we had contact with made purchasing a vehicle at Walker extremely satisfying. Yes, we will return again in a heartbeat to be repeat customers! Thank you Jim you represent Walker/Ford very well.
