"Their service department seem to be slipping. "

I've gone to Wilkins for years but the last few times things have been getting to be less and less customer oriented. For me the last visit was the worst. They required an appointment for service. Pretty normal, right. But, be careful, because they don't make sure to have the parts they'll need to make the repair. I wasted approximately an hour going to and from the dealer for a scheduled appointment only to be told they ran out of the needed part. They knew when the appointment was established that the part would be needed. Unfortunately they didn't check to see if they had the required inventory on hand to meet the commitment they made. Further, wjen theu "ran out of parts", they made no effort to contact me to reschedule. What also was upsetting was their new additude. Wherein, not having the part, they felt was a reasonable excuse for blowing off the appointment....no apology needed. Service level maybe on the way down. Careful...this may be the new normal for their Service department.

"Wilkins Hyundai smashed my Genesis!"

Wilkins Hyundai service smashed my 2015 Genesis sedan while in for an oil change in November of 2016. They had it negligently repaired, as the paint doesn't match the rest of the car. I have emailed them multiple times, and called them as to my dissatisfaction and the need to fix the car properly with matching paint, as they smashed it. They have not once ever gotten a return an email or phone call. I have no choice but to file a lawsuit to recoup the damages on my $53,000 car that has mismatching paint and body damage. I do not recommend this dealer to buy a car from or do any service work. If there is any issue, they will not work with you and will never get back to you. Avoid this place....

"John in service keeps me coming back to the dealership!"

I am on my third Hyundai, and all where purchased at Wilkins. One of the main reasons I keep going back to Wilkins is their service department. I usually go there after I get off work without an appointment. They usually get me in right away, and get it done in a timely manner. If the repairs or service require more time, they set me up with a loaner car. John has always been my go to guy. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. I will be going in soon for my 3,000 mile oil change.

I purchased a New 2015 Sonata from Wilkins Hyundai. The car had a strange whistling sound that Chris in Service and Ken in sales attacked and resolved. I can say my entire experience from the polite, knowledgeable and professional sales team when I bought to the follow ups making sure I am a happy customer to fixing my issue with genuine care and concern. TPMS (Tire Pressure Moniter System) light came on twice in last three days. Made an internet appointment at Wilkins dealership checkup. Show up on time, greet and meet by John. The car was ready to go in less 20 minutes with minor adjustments and more pressure in tires with no charge. Wilkins even wash my car.

So this review has a few pieces to it. First of all, we purchased our Santa Fe in February 2009. Jim Minogue was one of the best people to deal with. The whole experience was a good one. I did not buy the vehicle that night due to a snow storm and it being my wife's birthday, but we negotiated everything and came back on Saturday. The entire experience from top to bottom has been GREAT. Jim is older than me and kept calling me Sir. I thought is was funny. As the year have gone by, we still love our Santa Fe. I've had basic Maintenance done tot he car and both Ray and Matt in the Service Dept are kind and courteous and always anxious to help and resolve your questions/concerns. Service is quick and fast. As time has gone on, I have also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Tom Wilkins. A very nice guy. Down to Earth and family oriented. He took the time one day to talk to me and asked how old my kids are. I've been in other dealerships where I have seen some real abrasive owners. Tom, I believe anyway, has created a good atmosphere at his dealership from top to bottom. I've enjoyed the Wilkins experience so much that my next car WILL be from them. I have also recommended by brother to them and he also bought a car from Jim. THey live on the northside of Arlington Hts and also enjoyed the experience.
