Unqualified Technicians - jdwarrington08
Under no circumstances buy a car from NuCar Chevrolet and if you do, DO NOT allow their unqualified service technicians to work on it. I took my truck in to NuCar Chevrolet in New Castle, DE to have the 02 sensor replaced. I was told at that time that my thermostat needed replacing. I authorized the replacement. When the truck was returned to me and while I was driving the truck home the temperature gauge was reading above normal. The next day I checked my coolant reservoir and found the coolant almost an inch below the cool line on the reservoir. This was after I was changed $20.30 for anti-freeze that I do not believe the technician put in my radiator. (I have a picture of the coolant level). I also question the fact that the technician actually did the road test because if he did, he should have noted that the temperature gauge is reading at just below the 3/4 line instead of just above the 1/2 line where it read before. (I have a picture of the temperature gauge) When I brought the truck back because I was NOT satisfied with the service, I was given a 9 am appointment. When I arrived at the NuCar dealership, I was asked if I was waiting for the truck and I said yes. At that point, I was told that they would not get to my truck until after a customer’s oil change. When I questioned that, the NuCar service manager, D. Aliberto, told me and these are his exact words, "That I could take my truck and leave IF I didn't like the way he was handling my complaint " This was said while the NuCar Service Manager was dangling my truck keys in front of my face!!! As far as I’m concerned the service manager at NuCar Chevrolet is totally unprofessional and unqualified for that job

Charged 415.00 for an ignition module repair. I had car towed in they said I brought it in without an appointment. Seriously? It stopped running I had no choice. Charged 124.00 for the part when they cost less then half of that. It won’t matter what they say or do, I will never go back here for any reason. I do mean never. I will tell others about this experience as well. I get the pandemic had businesses to not make as much money as usual years but I won’t put up with the legalized theft.

I had a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful. - Wil4ELa
The staff was very helpful and the service was great. My appointment did not take very long and the waiting room was pleasant. My sale persons, Alan, was a joy to work with and was tireless in finding us the car we wanted and then we went back for our first oil change made a point of coming up to us and asking if we were satisfied and happy with our car.
It's worth the extra drive somewhere else - SS396
First dealt with this dealer in 2001 with a slightly used vehicle. They used every stereotypical car salesman tactic known to man but in the end their price was cheaper so we went with them. Before signing the paper on the vehicle it was noticed that a front alignment issue existed. It was purchased with a written agreement to remedy this. Months later, after multiple attempts at fighting the dealer to honor the agreement, it was finally fixed. At the time we vowed to never buy here again.
Flash forward 13 years and we dared to venture on the lot again. This time they happened to have another slightly used vehicle that matched exactly what we were looking for. It took over a week to actually buy the car because of the grueling and infuriating salesman's games they put you through. We did finally get another fair price though. This vehicle has been back in the shop 6+ times in a little over a year and every issue has taken multiple trips to the shop and a lot of arguing to finally get it fixed. Some issues have taken 6 months or more before they finally fix them. Prepare to be lied to, told multiple stories, and even get hung up on by the service team before your car is fixed. Its clear that their first goal is to have you just give up and live with the problem. And here's the kicker. They significantly damaged our vehicle on the last trip and have laughed off the idea of fixing it.
Buyer beware! The drive to another dealer in the area is surely worth it. We won't be fooled again.
Do not use their service department - Sg196
Unable to duplicate a transmission shutter even though there is a service bulletin out explaining what’s going on, even goes as far as showing pictures on how to fix the issue. They first drove it in the PARKING LOT to try and duplicate the problem. Once we complained about that they did drive it for 13 miles and said they couldn’t duplicate the problem and told us that GM would only pay them for a certain amount of minutes and their minutes were up so they couldn’t drive it any longer.
Steering loose - again service bulletin out. They claim it would take hours to do - service bulletin shows 15 minutes worth of work which we had fixed elsewhere and the repair was less than 5 minutes - you read that correctly - less than 5 minutes. They told us they fixed it only to find out when we decide we had had enough of waiting around that we would be coming to pick up our truck that it in fact had not been fixed.
Running boards - peeling - dealership stated it was a faulty part and it was covered under warranty. Again.... pretty obvious fix. We were told our truck would be ready for pickup - it wasn’t. They claim the parts were not in, we needed the truck so we picked it up. Upon picking up our truck it was documented that the steering and running boards were all warranty work. We would return next week to pick up our new running boards. Next week turned into TWO weeks later only to find out the service manager “looked into” our vehicle and it was a few DAYS out of warranty so they would cover nothing under warranty. We have called GM and filled not one but two formal complaints.
Again, we have our checkout paperwork showing all items would be covered under warranty and then when the parts came in they tell us that our truck was DAYS, not months, not years, but DAYS outside of the 3 year mark. We were well under in mileage but we were out by days!
We also called IG Burtons General Manager - Daniel Hall left voice mails and NEVER got a phone call I’m return.
Do not waist your time or money - go elsewhere - we did!
They took my truck and DESTROYED it - Maxvoltage
WILL TAKE YOUR VEHICLE ON BEACH FOR FUN WITH THEIR FAMILY. So, I bought my truck there, which it is really nice and kinda hard to find. The salesman (chris) was pretty laid back, cool, and easy to talk to. Had little trouble financing, but they worked to find someone to finanace, and at a better rate then i thought i would get. Great. 3 days later, have been noticing a ticking noise under the hood... not good. Take it back, they say ok, we will look at, and then gave me a loaner.... wow, couldnt ask for more.... except, why didnt anyone else hear that when THEY purchased the truck. I bought it on one of those super super windy days, so i could only visually inspect. Anyway... 3 weeks later (and a couple days) i get it back.... wow. This thing is disgustingly dirty INSIDE. The driver side... the passenger side... AND the back seats... floor and seats themselves. Sand, dirt, HAIR... about 4-5 inch dark thin curly hair. I have shaved hair as well as my son... which is only people ever in that truck. I look in the back... too which i locked both tail gate and bed slider BEFORE i dropped it off, and both were unlocked upon retrieving...the motor is under the hood... not the bed. Truck has full leather interior with salt water stains running down the seats in the back now. Look underneath... bolts aren't in all the way because crossthreaded so when wind catches it... yup... gone. I was sooo happy to get this truck... and their mechanics took it for family fun for the weekend or whatever.... and then, did ... very bad (trying to refrain) work. I bought a very nice truck, and because i had to have warranty work done on it.... they thought it was their 4 wheel drive loaner vehicle. I am BEYOND mad. How would u feel to get and see that. Update... looked under hood and plastic positive terminal cover is busted completely off.... and where i thought battery cover..... gone. Have about a billion pictures of everything, but cant show here. SOOO mad. This is my personal vehicle i spent so much money on to drive my woman and our kids around in.... and these people took it (without permission... from me anyway) to beat up, wreck the interior.... and do whatever they wanted. How is that ok???
I purchased a 2018 Colorado from here. They upsold the... - Chris
I purchased a 2018 Colorado from here. They upsold the extended warranty and service with lifetime free oil changes and tire rotation. On more then one visit for oil change, the tire rotation was not done. One service rep told me its only done every other? Tire rotation every 10000 miles? I checked by discretely marking the tires other times to find it was not done on more then one visit that it should have been. Honestly not worth the hassle of arguing it or trying to prove it. The fastest visit for their "express service" for just an oil change was 35 min. Most visits (last one was 45k so 9 visits) were over an hour for an oil change I can do myself in 10-15 min. Did not appear to be busy on any given visit. Don't offer express service if you can't provide express service. Had defect in 2 rims. First one they made effort to replace rim and even took one from their body shop to replace. 2nd rim I was told they would contact me after claim made to GM. Inquired couple times after and told it was denied but they submitted again after additional pictures and would contact me. Never contacted me and never was replaced. Intermittent Check Engine Light with code P-0019. Went out of my way to bring in the truck with light on so that they could read code themselves and document it. Was reminded on every attempt to have them diagnose issue that it would cost me $120 diagnostic fee if they didn't find anything, even thought I had the issue documented and was covered by extended warranty. In one visit they replaced sensor and I didn't even make it a quarter mile from the lot before the light came back on. The rest of the visits they said they couldn't find anything wrong and told me they can't do anything without light on. I understand its difficult to diagnose a intermittent issue and GM might not pay a claim for work if they can't prove the issue. My issue is that every time I tried to get my issue resolved I was made to feel like no one cared, felt threatened by the way they "reminded" me that I would have to pay if they found nothing wrong and overall was made to feel like they didn't want to be bothered with my problem. Of course they never charged me a diagnostic fee but also said they let the fee go and said it in way way that made me feel like they thought they were doing me a favor. Ya thanks for not charging me for not fixing an issue under warranty.... I finally gave up and after talking with a private mechanic I trust, decided to order the part I felt would fix the problem. When I went to install the part, I found that the stupid cover they put over the engine these days, had a big crack in the front of it. I can't prove it, but I know the dealer was the last one under the hood and I know from the last time I was under the hood that it was not cracked prior to the sensor being installed. While the damage is cosmetic only, its still damage. So after spending 45k on a truck, I have an issue under warranty, only to go through xxxx trying to get if fixed to a point that I give up. Had to spend nearly $200 to fix it myself only to discover they did damage to a $120 part to replace a sensor that didn't even fix the problem in the first place. Needless to say, I will be doing my own oil changes for now on (even though they are free at dealer) and any warranty issue I will bring to another dealer... and if I find a dealer with a decent service department, that is where I will likely buy my next vehicle. The part I replaced fixed the issue I was having (little over 5000 miles and no light). After talking to my mechanic for 10 min, he did a little research on the internet and told me what part he thought it was. The engine has 4 of the solenoids he suggested. While only one might have been bad, I replaced all 4 at $43 each plus shipping. Anyone who thinks a dealer is better then a private mechanic because they are trained in the brand they work on, think again. You only need to find a good private mechanic. I will also never buy a service contract or extended warranty again. JiffyLube (or whatever quick oil change shop near you) is a better option if you cant do it yourself. In this and other past experiences, a dealer will give you nothing but a hassle to get out of warranty work that is not obvious and undeniable. To be subjective and fair as I can, I didn't have an issue with every employee. This is a review of the dealer as a whole and is my experience in a nutshell. I did not include every little detail that made me unsatisfied with this dealer and every experience with them was not all bad, however the negative did outweigh the positive for me.
Left me hanging - Mike1234
Bought my 2015 Chevrolet 2500 pickup, new from Willis. Took advantage of their oil change specials since purchase. After a recent oil change noticed large oil spot in driveway. Investigation revealed leaking oil filter. Left vehicle sit all weekend, called First thing Monday morning, explained situation. I was told I could bring it in Thurs or Fri. Let my displeasure be known to person who took my call. Also contacted them through one of their online contact forms. I got a very nice email thanking me for considering Willis for my car purchase.
Crawled under truck, filter was loose....tightened and took to another Chevrolet dealer that day. Expected better
