Butch Oustalet “Big O” Ford in Gulfport, MS rates a 10 of 10 in customer service after the sale in their support on a factory issue with my 2021 Ford F-150 King Ranch Truck with Hybrid engine. The F-150 speaks for itself as a “top tier” truck; however it’s the customer service by Big O Management Team (General Manager Darin Berdine along with the Sales Manager) that makes Ford a step above and Butch Oustalet Ford Gulfport the “go to” dealer and strongly recommended for any/all Ford purchase.
Butch Oustalet went above the corporate team and stayed the course to resolve the problem with my new truck purchase.
Darin is a “Man of his words” and tremendous asset to the Butch Oustalet Team. As a recent retiree from Chevron after 40-years, purchase of the 2021 Ford F-150 King Ranch was retirement gift to myself to replace my 2010 F-150 King Ranch. Darin’s customer service leader ensured my retirement gift was what expected of a Ford product. “Customer Service after the Sale” is what ensures loyalty to a brand - That is what I view in Butch Oustalet Ford Gulfport.
UNTRUSTWORTHY - jsdoty
Bought a used vehicle from Butch Oustalet in Gulfport. First off, we have tried to buy 2 other vehicles from them in the past and found them to be arrogant, unhelpful and unwillingly to negotiate. We did not buy from them then, and should not have bought from them the third time either!! When we went to buy our current vehicle, they were the same way, but it was a vehicle my husband really wanted so we wound up paying asking price.
When we test drove it we were only allowed to go straight down airport rd. and back because it was missing a lug nut (which they put on that afternoon). We noticed upon initial inspection that the edge of the roof was bubbling, and there was a cigarette burn on the driver seat, which we were guaranteed they would fix before that evening (because they had people on site that could do those repairs) when we returned to sign papers. We returned that evening (in the dark it looked as though the roof was repaired), was told they would fix the burn hole the next day, signed papers, and drove home. Upon driving it home we noticed the steering wheel was crooked and something was very wrong with the steering and handling of the vehicle! We checked out the problem when we arrived home and discovered it was missing parts needed for the lift that was put on! The next morning before returning to have the hole fixed, I noticed that the "fix" that was done to the roof was to cut the bubbles off and put black tape over the spots!! When I drove to the dealer to have the hole repaired I was told the person that does that work was off sight and it would take more time to fix that issue. I showed them the horrible "fix" for the roof and was told " Yeah, we were going to send if off to get fixed, but thought we would try that, we will send it off to have it fixed properly") I explained the steering and handling problem we experienced and asked them to put the missing parts on and align it because driving the vehicle was dangerous.
So longer story shortened..... a month later......
The hole is still in the seat. A piece that was missing from the lift was put on but the upper and lower ball joints on both sides need to be replaced. The control arms need to be replaced. The inferior springs that were put on need to be replaced. The steering wheel still rides crooked. The roof is still the same. After calling EVERYDAY for two weeks and talking to the salesperson, used car sales manager, sales manager, service people, we were lied to then shuffled around then avoided. They did not honor anything or even offer to pay for repairs. We were quoted over $3000 to fix the repairs needed from other sources.
PLEASE do not go there to purchase your vehicle!
Recent Purchase - Jim156
I recently purchased a 2018 Lincoln Continental Reserve and, after finding the car on-line, did most of the negotiations over the internet with Sean Varone. As a result, I had the best car buying experience ever in my 35 years of making such purchases. Sean was informative, timely and, most important, HONEST! My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with him throughout this entire process. Furthermore, after negotiating a deal and sitting down with the Finance Person (which is normally the worst part for me), I was again impressed with the company's business practices. The process with easy, straight forward and very considerate of my time. There was never any haggling, constant back and forth with the "manager", or back peddling. I highly recommend contacting Sean if you're interested in any Ford, Lincoln or Nissan product.
Get Everything in writing, don't expect much! - Hkw
We had a decent buying experience; then came to when we'd signed papers and we became the afterthought.
We requested an oil change, tank of gas (was on a quarter of a tank) and a detail (the car was pretty 'lived in') of our used vehicle. I took it in the next day, to receive that. They spent 2 hours "detailing" the car, it was too late to change the oil so I got an IOU, but I did get a tank of gas ($30).
The next day in the daylight I inspected the car, and noticed that whoever had done the detailing had left a LOT to be desired. Gum in the carpet, trash in the seat tracks, melted candy on the seatbelts, chocolate finger prints and mud smears on the interior lighting. I called my salesperson, and requested they redo the detailing because it was horrible. She agreed, but did point out that "nobody had ever complained about their detail guy before". I got the feeling I was being a huge annoyance for them.
The second time around-they changed the oil-super fast at their quick lube. They also redid the detailing, which got the things they'd missed before but I was brought outside so the detail guy could "show me he got it all". Shouldn't that have been done the first time?
Which leads us to our SECOND problem with this dealership. We broke our down payment into two payments. We agreed on two dates, both of which the financing manager and the salesperson heard and ALSO agreed on. They requested we write a check, and they hold it to those dates. We said okay, but we'd bring in cash on those dates. They said, oh don't worry, we understand, we will not cash those checks until that day if you haven't brought in cash. Good deal, right? The first date came, we brought in a large amount of cash, no problem. Got handed our check back, easy peasy. The next deadline looms closer, and I had the cash the day before the deadline, so I texted the salesperson to let her know I'd be coming in a day early with cash. She said okay, no problem. I show up at the dealership and get told sorry, but we've already deposited your check. A day early, a full 24 hours before the date that was agreed upon by the finance manager, ourselves, and the salesperson.
I texted the salesperson and expressed my disappointment, and reiterated that I believed this was HORRIBLE customer service-what kind of dealership completely goes back on their word? I told her the facts-because I had cash, I was going to have to drive 2 hours round trip to the nearest after hours cash deposit ATM so our account wasn't overdrafted. I also asked her how she and the dealership planned to make this horrible oversight right, before I jumped the gun and made any reviews on line. I as a business owner would have jumped at that opportunity, but the next morning, I got a message from a completely uninvolved individual from the company, with a picture of a note handwritten that I nor my husband wrote, along with the words "This is the note that was attached to the check and those instructions were followed. I'd suggest you quit with the verbal trash talking". So let it be known that this unrelated individual called me a trash talker for being upset with the level of customer service that was being provided to me at that point. Good to know that's how this dealership is represented.
A further text from my salesperson stated that they went above and beyond by giving me gas, an oil change, and a detail, and that's not standard or policy for their used vehicles.
So, just an FYI before you purchase from these people-get EVERYTHING in writing. EVERYTHING. Their word means NOTHING. Also-if you're buying used and expect a clean vehicle with an oil change and a tank of gas, that's not standard or policy, so you're expecting them to go above and beyond.

Dissatisfied with service department - bm39459
Laurel Ford service department has the car we bought 5 months ago in their shop for the fourth time with the same problem (6th time it's been in a shop since buying 5 months ago) They either don't know what they are doing or they don't want to fix it. Either way, our experience with this has been horrible. The car has been there 7 days right now, it is Friday and they say they may have it fixed by Tuesday of next week because the fuel pump has not come in. I have NO IDEA why they did not ship it overnight! That is 11 days it will be in their shop, if it is even fixed then. Very unacceptable! Ford Motor Co will not stand behind their brand either. Customer service is a joke!

Shady Dealer - marley972
I was dealing with Danny Barnett on the phone for a day and a half. I had found a truck on autotrader listed about $3000 under what it should of been listed. I called and they said they would honor the price, though they said it was a mistake and should of been about 3k more. I thought awesome, I got lucky. Well we were back and forth all day, they had me fill out paperwork online for my possible trade in, they got an oil change and supposedly cleaned it up as they were going to deliver it to me. We had already sent my financing over to my credit union. At around 4pm that day Danny informed me that someone else put a deposit on the truck and I would not be getting it. He knew very well that the truck was going to be sold to me. I know this is not against any laws. But this is morally and ethically wrong and I will never do business with these people. Shady, shady, shady is all I can say

Awful in every way. I brought my car here for a transmission fix. To note: I made sure they were aware I had a transmission issue and they swore they were fully capable of fixing it. A full 2 weeks come and go, and all they did was stare at it for 2 minutes and charge me $136. They did not do anything. I paid them over a hundred dollars so they could look at it, sip a beer, and walk away. When I tried talking to them, all they said was they can't fix it, and I'll have to take it elsewhere. Terrible service.

Never trust this dealer! Don’t buy from them. They are liars.
We were in hurry to buy a car half year ago. We trusted them and bought a used car from them. They said there is nothing wrong with the car and told us there is a flashed light that is just a signal of car is working. Later we found that the light is indicating there is something wrong with the engine and we need to spend over 3000 dollars to change the transmission. And it is dangerous if we don’t change.
