I leased my EQE from Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh and - qwu
I leased my EQE from Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh and purchased the $1,295 SafeLease protection package in the finance office to cover qualifying excess wear and tear. My experience with this dealership ended on such a negative note.
When I turned the vehicle in 36 months later, in July 2026, I discovered that the SafeLease coverage was not reflected with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
I called Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh multiple times and twice specifically asked for a callback from the finance department. Neither request was returned. I finally had to ask for the GSM before I received any meaningful response.
Even after that, I was left to manage the entire process myself. Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh offered absolutely no help in coordinating or resolving the issue. Worse, I had to do it twice because SafeLease misread the final MBFS balance and underpaid the claim, requiring a second check. Neither SafeLease nor MBFS notified me when payments were sent/ received, so I had to keep calling both just to find out what was happening.
Mistakes happen. I can accept that. What I cannot accept is the lack of apology, responsiveness, follow-through, and basic ownership once the problem was discovered. If something breaks down between the dealership, the product it sells, and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, I expect the dealership to help resolve it - not leave the customer carrying the burden of coordinating everything.
For a dealership representing Mercedes-Benz, this entire experience was extremely disappointing. I expected a much higher level of service, communication, and professionalism, especially after purchasing a product that was supposed to make the lease-end process easier. Instead, the process became 1 hour call twice a week for 4 weeks, repeated explanations, and repeated follow-ups on my part.
The EQE itself was a great car. Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh completely lost my confidence as a customer. I will never do business with Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh again.
