I'm disappointed that I must write this review after having an enjoyable purchase process. In fact, my family would likely have purchased a new vehicle here within 2-3 years. Unfortunately, we have been shafted by the customer satisfaction department.
Picture this...
We purchased a GOLD CERTIFIED 4Runner 8 months ago. 17k miles on it. We were upsold due to "upgrades" that were included with one of the used vehicles. We stretched our budget and spent 51k total.
Then...
A/C fails 8 months after purchase in the dead of summer. Another Toyota dealership's service department informed us that the aftermarket front winch had rubbed against the A/C line, causing a leak. We approved those repairs at a total cost of $1,200.
Why am I leaving a one-star review???
Well, we received no previous disclosure that the winch was aftermarket and a possible liability. We purchased a "GOLD CERTIFIED" vehicle with 17k miles on it, obviously not expecting to have a $1,000 repair bill 8 months after purchase!
Toyota's corporate offices provided an indication and some reassurance that Capitol Toyota would make this situation good. Remember... "gold... certified" used vehicle.
Unfortunately, Kyle Read has communicated to us that Capitol Toyota would rather keep their fists clenched on that $1,000 pocket change than foster customer loyalty. Pretty silly!
