My Wife and I recently leased a new 26' MDX from Maus Acura. We started by going thru the internet and were assisted by Jan Echeverria. After working with him and his sales manager through some emails/phone calls back and forth concerning payment and our trade, we were able to come into the dealership and pick up the new vehicle to agreed numbers and were out of there in less than two hours. Maus Acura of North Tampa I purchased a Ford Expedition for $34,000 from Maus Acura, and the staff assured me it was a clean, accident-free vehicle. However, just a week later, I took it to a Ford dealersh for $34,000 from Maus Acura, and the staff assured me it was a clean, accident-free vehicle. However, just a week later, I took it to a Ford dealership for an inspection, where I was informed that the car had been in two unreported accidents. When I raised my concerns with Albert White, the General Manager at Maus Acura, he offered to buy it back for $30,000—meaning I would lose $4,000 in just 10 days. His response? “We buy and sell cars every day.” After further research, I discovered that this dealership buys vehicles at auction with previous issues, repairs them, fails to report the damage to Carfax, and then sells them as if they have a clean history. I feel ripped off and want to warn others: Stay away from this dealer and don’t fall victim like I did. Do business with honest people, not fraudsters. You continue to deceive me. At the time of sale, I was not informed that this car had been purchased from the Enterprise rental company. More
