I don’t know if there was a miscommunication or what. I called to get a price on parts I thought I may need which I was given. Then I was transferred to a SA to see how much it would cost to install sinc I called to get a price on parts I thought I may need which I was given. Then I was transferred to a SA to see how much it would cost to install since I’d prefer a dealer install for these particular parts (it involves the inteli key system which needs reprogramming if changed) and was quoted $530 for the part and a total $972 with install. This was a 2.5 hour job. I was later told the $972 was labor only. So your labor rate is $488 an hour? Thats absolutely criminal. But then if I wanted the job done we somehow got to $1640 something. And that was won out replacing door tumblers which I didn’t need as explained by Countryside Nissan and could still use the new inteli key system to start the car. I did not have to change to an analog ignition system. I realize it’s discontinued but I found 2 at dealers out of state Luckily you had to order those parts so you let me take the car and I’m so glad I did. I checked with two other dealers and the next highest amount I was quoted was $1204 and I got a quote from I94 Nissan for $1049. Including programming (which should be included since it’s necessary for the new parts but apparently an additional charge) But the worst part is that the technician was wrong and those parts wouldn’t have solved my issue. It turns out that it’s the after market remote start not signaling the anti theft interlock to release the ignition which can be reprogrammed for $45 or worst case scenario replaced for $399. This whole situation was a debacle from start to finish. More
