Car was appropriately diagnosed and fixed on the same day as the scheduled appointment. However, we experienced miscommunication impacting car pick up and, per our Basney agent, received an incorrect report as the scheduled appointment. However, we experienced miscommunication impacting car pick up and, per our Basney agent, received an incorrect report reflecting additional issues that would require a follow-up service appointment. A request for the correct reports remains unfulfilled. More

My most recent experience was disappointing as the dealership staff as a whole failed on multiple fronts. It was not my service advisor's fault, so this isn't a rant against Brian. There was a communi dealership staff as a whole failed on multiple fronts. It was not my service advisor's fault, so this isn't a rant against Brian. There was a communication breakdown on many levels. Perhaps that day Basney was severely understaffed right after a holiday. I really don't know. I requested twice in writing (online and drop-off envelope) as well as over the phone to be contacted for explanation of inspection results regarding the AC unit, as the leak was of primary concern and primary reason for the appointment. Instead I only received an automated text allowing me to approve/decline recommended repairs (which my advisor at one point texted me that they weren't entirely accurate since some were duscovered to have been mixed up with a different customer's vehicle). That was a $1200 false alarm. Still no discussion on the AC leak, but showed an AC shrader valve replacement recommendation, so I assumed that was the issue. We needed the car back by evening, so after multiple attempts to talk to someone about it were never successful, I went ahead and blindly approved the AC repair and added an oil change that was due. Later, after receiving an automated text advising the vehicle was ready for pickup, I called to pay over the phone and arrange pickup after hours. The receptionist attempted to transfer me to what I assume was the customer service desk, but dropped the call entirely. I called back and she tried again - several times. After about 9 or 10 attempts to transfer me without it going right back to her phone, I successfully paid and then requested the service center place my spare key under the floor mat. Not 5 mins later, the service center called and asked what I would like them to do with the key. Really? My wife and I arrived after hours to pick up the vehicle. My wife immediately was concerned that no oil change had been performed because her dash indicator was never reset and there was no updated mileage sticker applied to the windshield. However the invoice showed we were charged for it, so once again we assume. Then I noticed on the invoice the description of the AC repair - "AC system still operating properly, no source of leak found, system is fully charged, recommending customer continues to drive vehicle and/if when AC gets warm leak will be found". Still charged $200.46 to be told the same thing I was told 2 weeks earlier when asked to bring it back in after 500-1,000 miles. Would have been nice to discuss over the phone as asked 3 times. (By the way, the AC was warmer than 2 weeks earlier which is why we brought in at 500 miles instead of 1,000 as my wife was going to do extensive traveling over the weekend in rather hot weather.) So as you can see, it's hard to rate this visit very high. There were other mechanical issues I wanted addressed during that visit and wanted discussed over the phone but never happened. I'm debating having another nearby competing dealership handle that at this point. I own 2 Hondas that are near the point of getting replaced. It'd be a shame for to Basney lose out on the potential vehicle sales opportunities to their competition over some poor customer service. More
