First let me say that Ben Buchanan was great to work with. My problem with this experience is that the repair time from when I dropped off the car to when I received the car back was 3 weeks. The reason with. My problem with this experience is that the repair time from when I dropped off the car to when I received the car back was 3 weeks. The reasons I used Wayne Akers Ford was because the engine failure stranded me while I was in the south end of West Palm Beach and also because I had purchased my very first car from Wayne Akers back in 1984. The timeline for the repair would have been ok except that I had to pay for a rental vehicle for that entire time and no one could help me out with that so I rented the vehicle from your truck rental department. The truck rental department was nice enough in the end of the rental to give me a small discount but nevertheless that bill was almost $900. Second part of this is the repair work. When I received the car it was 3 days later and all the engine coolant came out of the motor and stranded me in Miami for a total of 5 hours from when I broke down to when a tow company finally got me to the destination at 11:00pm which was Grieco Ford dealership. Ford motor company was nice enough to cover the tow fee for this event as they did when the engine failed in the beginning. I had the car towed to Grieco Ford because of the convenience to where I live, which is in Fort Lauderdale. The reason that the engine coolant came out of the motor was because the radiator hose was not properly attached. I had to pay Grieco Ford over $200 for this repair. They could not honor work done by another dealer and that repair was another week without my car. So that's 4 weeks of car rentals I had to pay for in total for this extended repair because someone didn't attach a radiator hose properly. So I'm not sure if this is how things are supposed to be but it would nice if someone could at least acknowledge the situation and be somewhat accountable for the mistake made on the repair. I did send communications about the engine coolant breakdown issue but did not get a response. My "people rating" is not personal as my experience with them, when I actually spoke to them, was great. However I would not always receive call backs or text responses and would have to keep calling back to get updates for the repair process. I'm in "service" for a living so I understand how busy things get specially with the volume you all do. But having to pay for a rental for as long as I did with no help, I needed updates nevertheless and responding back would have made it a little less stressful . More
